Because I can't read cards! The combo also works with Exhume, Demonic Gifts and Goryo's Vengeance. I forgot how the mechanic "Undying" worked. I'll alter the primer. Sorry for missing it, and thanks for noticing my mistake!
I was looking for Raffine and asking people who opened boxes, then managed to pull her myself in the Pre-Release kit! Super excited to start brewing with her, I think she’ll be a real cEDH contender.
update: she's pretty decent in cedh, the most common build i've seen is a midrange razakats, use a bunch of loot/discard effects, either with raffine or otherwise, dump razaketh in the yard, reanimate, and tutor with him for the win. with some added stax/hatebears because it's not the most turbo of decks in the format
Great game, loved Raffine here! I think it’s a deck that needs the stax to slow everyone else down considering its wincons of reanimation, combat damage and wheel combos are all slower than the average deck!
@@XpPotions Fair enough, Everybody loves the stax player when they stop a thoracle combo win or shut down docksides but in against a bunch of brand new decks in lower power cEDH its not quite as easy to root for 😂
Baal could've easily lost to his own Crypt had he not sacrificed it with Transmute A. but sure, we don't know how the game would've unfolded with the Crypt pressuring Baal's life total (the decisions he would've made etc). anyway it was a great game, lots of stack interaction which is great to see ❤
Yes eventually his life got really low, but having 2 extra mana would have allowed him for bolder plays, as he didn't go for it some turns earlier due to mana restrains on channeling Otawara into Cyc Rift with mana for Delay to protect it.
This was an epic game, but I cannot stand those megapackages that dockside makes people put in their decks. My favourite deck therefore the raffine deck.
@Bcdeano Players were desperate to find a solution and big boards can be hard to keep up, specially on Spelltable. Everyone forgot Baal had just played Opposition Agent, and it eventually didn't affect the outcome of the game which was Baal winning through the Curio loop.
Wouldn't Helder have had possible outs against the final combo? Each time his top card gets exiled, he would have a new top card to look at with his commander. If he found some free interaction, he could have stopped the combo.
Good catch, there was a possibility indeed. It missed everyone, as it was a pretty long game, and new Commanders tend to have new intricacies that sometimes players don't see right away :)
@@caueguimaraes7632 Hélder lost some draws to Rodrigo's Notion Thief, and we believe we tracked it properly, but do you have any timestamps? Most cEDH decks are going to have the same staples because that's just how competitive decks work. Idk what you expect to change. Granted decks like Raffine are just good stuff and aren't particularly spicy.
@@DontStopTheHustle i know, i just dont see whats the point playing cedh with these generals, when you could play like the stapel ones. Sure, try the new cards from the new sets but why play cedh with them when you could build deck around their abilities
@@szabolcsdavid2893 Mainly it's because EDH is a casual format and that means playing with commanders that are fun. We can't all play Thrasios/Tymna, that would be boring.
As @jacob Kay mentions, most cEDH decks start from a pool of 70 to 80 cards pre-established as staples, being the best in their slots, so unless you want to build something really specific, or perhaps purposefully less powerful, to follow a theme or strategy, it's hard to re-invent the wheel. Notice though, that both Raffine and Evelyn's decks didn't bring Thoracle package to it, despite being in the colors and almost auto include as well, specifically because people often complain when they see it. But it should be in there were you to play it competitively.
How does Cormela removes the +1+1 to keep going with Undying Evil? I failed to find a way on the list

dude what a complicated game, good job guys!

Yeah, the deck really wants the RoLs and other stax, but i didn't want the other players to do nothing all game. Still drew the Magistrate lmao

Love the Maestros representation in this!
Love it! GG guys!!!
that dranith the whole game there was brutal
Just goes to show everyone should probably be playing a bit more removal!
@@XpPotions yeah, even my casual games see more removal than that lol
This was a cool game, I'm liking the new cards.

It was nice seeing an Evelyn deck without worldgorger.
13:46 Hetmit Druid lol
Can some one please explain evelyn's ability, like when yoi can cast exile cards

What happened to Rodrigo's Gilded Drake?
Gilded Drake sacrifices itself if the target of the ability becomes illegal, so i sacrificed it!
@@XpPotions that I didn't know. Thanks!
At the end did Rodrigo try to cast mystical tutor with opposition agent on the board?

Man, this entire spoiler season I've been super down on Connive...seeing Raffine in action, I'm rethinking it!
I was surprised by it myself
Baal drawing many cards during the battle to remove nothion thief, Helder did miss some draws from smuggler's share :/
mystic tutor with op agent on the batlefield at 15:18 :/
