If you’re a felon, then this is an alternative. I seen a video where there is a felon that has old revolvers sent directly to his door. And he compact the powder and put bullet in after. Apparently felons can have revolvers as long as they don’t use standard bullets.

Airguns. Or if you aren't opposed to making your own ammo, build your own firing valve as large as your materials will allow. I built a 2.5" bore air cannon with a 48" barrel that would launch a beer bottle at better than 400 fps.
