- I had a short showing the push to autofocus with the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4k combined with the Viltrox M2 II Speedbooster and the Sigma 18-35 Lens. There were lots of comments with questions and I hope by making this video it will answer what I know and allow for others to add to assisting others that may have issues getting the autofocus to work.

Thank you very much for your great video, you explained everything perfectly.
I'm glad that I was able to help.
I always loved the film look of BM cameras and I almost bought it. Love it
It's not the greatest for solo run and gun video creation. I do love the images it produces. Thank you for commenting.
when using the viltrox + sigma 18-35 combo, does the image soften up when at a wide aperture?
I wouldn't describe it as soft. But with the viltrox the aperture wide open is 1.2 and that's a very shallow depth of field so almost everything is out of focus but a small range can be sharp if focused perfectly.
@@TimODell7 ahhh i see, thank you! would it be worth it to spend the extra $ on a metabones speedbooster that’s specifically made for the 4k? or would a viltrox work just as good?
I haven't had the opportunity to compare the two in person. I felt the price to performance wasn't enough for me to justify the more expensive metabones. Viltrox is fine with 4k in my experience.
what is the name of the app? blackmagic pocket control? not available in Canada...effing great...
Sorry if it's not available for you. Honestly I don't use that mobile app much. Takes too much to connect. But it does come in handy in certain scenarios. There may be other apps that do the same. I've gone through a few.
i dont see the app
I think the latest blackmagic camera update broke the push to focus. If you go to the blackmagic website and the support-cameras you should be able to find the blackmagic camera app listed.
