i just realized how many crystal castles songs i uploaded already. i'll try to upload their entire discography besides the really noisy songs like doe deer or alice practice which are great too but sound kinda weird slowed imo.
alice practice was my first cc track, heard it watching 'skins' there was a scene where a character's father dies and he is being silent and numb about it all day and then goes to see cc performing with the friends when 'alice practice' is being performed he hugs his best friend violently and starts crying
i've heard that that episode brought crystal castles a lot of attention back then. i never watched 'skins' tho so i can't say much about the show. since when did u know about cc then? i've only known them since january of this year but i'm still pretty young so yeah. the first song by them i've ever listened to was 'untrust us' bc i just listened to their entire first album from front to back after seeing a lot of praise for it online. been in love with their music ever since that moment.
@@ultraviolent4677 oh that was 2013: lana, weeknd, asap mob, tde, cc etc. the greatest year in music for me and then 2016 was fire too, especially for rap music its still weird to know the first cc album was released in 2008, too ahead of its time 'untrust us' is iconic
true 2013 must've been great - i'd say lana and the weeknd kinda peaked around that year creatively. with rocky and other asap artists its kinda hard to say but i liked at.long.last.asap a lot too and that album is from 2015. he needs to finally release a new album. and i think i might start uploading more rap songs in the future bc it's the genre that got me interested in music in the first place and my taste has just developed a lot since then. i really started getting more invested with music in 2018 so that year will always be special to me. this year was great too for me bc i discovered so many new artists i love now and this channel has also helped me at diversifying my music taste. i'm only about two years older than the first cc album - that's so insane to me idk why. i think the fact that they were so ahead of their time is a big factor as to why they're more relevant and popular than ever nowadays despite not being active anymore.
@@ultraviolent4677 i was a hardcore asap fan, nobody knew them in 2013💀 i kinda lost the connection tho, rocky stayed the same and i've changed so much as a person damn rap got me interested in music too first fav artists were rick ross and lil wayne and all that gangsta rap what about u? btw shortly after i discovered rock music: slipknot, rammstein, manson, soad etc i agree with u, cc could've released the first album today and still be relevant btw do u wanna hear burial + cc in terms of style? listen to 'acid rain' by lorn
