So instead they used double meanings in everything. One of those hints they sent was Andrea Rojas. They made sure we saw Lena had feelings like she did for Kara before. You can't tell me the Andrea thing was am accident by the writers. They used parallels in that entire relationship right as Supercorp was at its largest in popularity. This was to tell us Lena had deep feelings for the same sex before. So as a Behavioral Health Professional I have a breakdown that I think Supercorp fans will appreciate. Lena broke the way she did because the things she was hiding were brought to the surface and not just her denial of who Supergirl was. I'm not saying the show was implying Lena realized she was gay, but they were implying Lena cared for Kara in a way that went beyond friendship. Lena's pain was that she thought Kara didn't care as much as she did. Then Kara did her own speech and Lena realized that Kara was in as much denial as she had been. Season 6 is kind of proof of my theory. Season 6 was primarily Lena helping Kara except herself for who she is. Now this can be taken multiple ways and that was intentionally done by writers who weren't aloud to make them blatantly Canon, so instead they used double meaning on almost everything in season 6. Lena knew before Kara how she felt, that was clear by how different Lena became after she realized how she felt. The rest of the time was her patiently helping Kara come to terms with her own feelings and you can see Kara slowly except these things. Denial can be very very powerful. But if you look, Lena had slowly taken Alex's place in Kara's life and even Alex herself noticed this. You can't tell me Alex would feel okay in letting just a friend take her role in Kara's life. No she felt safe in leaving Kara with Lena cause she saw the connection, the writers made sure we knew Alex knew. All of this was intentionally made apparent to us that Lena had become the most important person in Kara's life and that last scene was Lena telling Kara she excepted herself and all that she is and that if Kara did the same, she would be there for her. Kara taking off the glasses while staring at Lena was a symbol from the writers of Kara excepting herself and an expression of what mattered to her, Lena Luthor. Also when Lena and Kara hugged at the end, Melissa made the acting choice to close her eyes and smile like she was at home in Lena's arms. Watch the her other hugs, she never closed her eyes, this was intentional.
In season 6 I had a hard time with how little they focused on Alex and Kara. That relationship was the show in my opinion. But then I started to see what they were trying to relay to the audience. Without coming straight forward and saying it, they were showing the evolution of Kara and Lena. Alex had finally done what she always wanted, found a life outside of Kara, she deserved that. On the other hand Kara, without realizing it, found someone worthy to take her place. Someone to eat potstickers with, be her perfect partner on game night, and willing to really listen when she needed it, Lena replaced Alex. I don't mean that I'm a bad way, but that's why the show displayed Alex as unwilling to really give Kara advice in their final scene and instead said it's something she had to figure out for herself, Alex had a well deserved life now and knew Kara had found someone worthy of her role in Kara's life. But more than that, no matter what the ending said, Kara and Lena wouldn't be developing a life outside of each other like Alex ended up doing. I truly believe they would develope a life with each other.

The look that Lena gave to Kara the first time they met in Lena's office is the kind of look that you would expect to see when two characters are being shown in a scene together for the first time and they might end up being a couple later on in the show. But we know that this never happened and I don't think anything will happen in the last episodes either. I believe it could be something like what happened for Korrasami (The Legend of Korra). Only after the series had ended, it was then confirmed by the creators that they were indeed in love with each other. But then their relationship was displayed in the comic books. Who knows? Maybe this is what they will pull off for Supercorp too and in a few months, announce that these two were in fact attracted to each other more than just friends. But for whatever reason, it couldn't be portrayed as a WLW relationship in the series.
You are correct in a way. Watch some of Melissa Benoist's Cameo videos that she makes for fans who pay for them. She has become much more vocal about some of the choices her and Katie made during the final season. For example, it was Melissa who suggested that William have a girlfriend and Mon El be sent to the future for good. Katie suggested that Lena become the new Alex, taking on the role as Kara's human shield. Melissa has confirmed that the looks were not in our heads, they both knew what they were doing from roughly season 4 and on, both have used the words wink wink nudge nudge when describing these scenes. Melissa has said in one Cameo video that their final scene together was very much intended to be open ended, there was a reason Kara is staring at Lena as she removed the glasses and then behind walking towards her. She said she is hopeful that fans will read into what her and Katie intended, that scene was not an ending, but a beginning. Katie also chose to have Lena refer to Kara's apartment as home and not one time in season 6 after 6x2 are we shown Lena in any other place but Kara's. Katie was asked about this during a Continental interview and she said "I think we are implying that Lena stayed at Kara's while she was away as a way to be closer to her. Not long after Lena returns from her trip, we imply by using the final scenes in each episode, that Lena has been staying with Kara". Point is, they are implying that these 2 live together and will be together after the series finale.
a few years back I saw an edit of supercorp. i ended up watching the entire arrowverse starting from arrow and all the others series and every crossover in between. now that supergirl is over and they didn't end it with supercorp, i just can't seem to bring myself to watch the rest of arrowverse. cw definitely messed up not letting Kara and Lena be endgame.

THE FEELS!!! This was really good. I only got into Supercorp because it popped up on here when I was watching something else (Only ever watched the first episode of season 1 when it was on CBS and I didn’t like it lol). I had heard a lot about this Ship so decided to check it out. Talk about a rabbit hole. I was pissed that they hugged at the end of the series instead of the kiss we all know they filmed and their relationship was not made cannon. But then I realized, CW and the writers had no control over it. I think they ultimately cut it because WB and DC still own the rights to Supergirl and I don’t think they wanted to make this pairing cannon. It sucks but what can you do. Yes they made Jonathan Kent BI(Right?) but that’s Jonathan not CLARK and that’s why it was ok. They all suck 😂😂
