I havnt installed Ondura panels in a few years and needed a refresher course for a small project im doing in the morning. So i started watching your video and quickly realized it was the same video i watched 3 years ago haha. You are a natural instructor. Im a 3rd gen carpenter and you tell us things in this video that the common man wouldnt even know he needed to know. Thanks again for the great video👍.
Yeah this guy knows how to reach out to peasants like myself.
This is one of the instruction videos I have ever seen. Answered all the questions I have about installation. Has convinced me to use them on a small shed I am building for an automower.
THANK YOU!! I have 70 panels to put up and this answered all my questions.
I am using it for Siding... Wish Me Luck
Going to be installing these products next week, this has been a great video about the process, especially about finishing all the edges in a weatherproof manner
I installed Ondura Roof on my barn 7 years ago , over plywood . I can walk on the roofing without damaging it and had no roofing lost during the hurricane that went through my area .
Thank you for sharing that story with us. we appreciate hearing the positive feedback from our customers.
Iam sorry but those panels are extrenmly weak.. low quality. I will not buy again..
Great instructional video! I've just finished a porch and ready to put these panels on.
This is the most detailed instruction for Ondura on the net. Case in point, how to install rubber gaskets correctly.
Paull Grossi: Thank you.We have been working on new educational information for our customers, and this is one project that is ready to share. We are also adding more information and roofing project examples on our website at ondura.com/projects/roofing-project-instructions.shtml
Very informative and helpful.
I did the tan color over an open section of my chicken coop and of course it dramatically reduced the temperature. I’m doing using the same color tan on a roof over put pool deck. I found out Lowe’s is discontinuing the Tan color so I had to travel 1.5 hrs to another Lowe’s to get the Tan.
Exactly what I needed to know to put some roofing on a woodshed I just built! Everything else I found was either doing a roof with two sides or one attached to a house. I wasn't sure how to seal the end, but bending over the bridge cap should do it!
Excellent, well informed, instructional video, with lots of helpful tips!
Great video. Very detailed and helpful. Thanks for creating and posting. I will be watching this again prior to instal on my cabin.
Chris Terry: Thank you. Joe from Homesteadonomics has been very kind in helping us demonstrate to our customers how to install ONDURA. He recorded this video for us while working on one of his recent projects: ua-cam.com/video/IdNTPyFsc0w/v-deo.html
Good job
I just finished installing an Ondura roof onto my new firewood shed. It was very easy, thanks to your video! Why do you screw into the peaks rather than the valleys?
The valley will create a leak entry
Guidance and tips very much appreciated! Thank you!
Thank you so much for your instruction and also for the accompanying tips--GREAT VIDEO!
For using this product on an older garage, should I put a small bead of silicone on the overlapping seams? Would that help prevent rain or moisture blowing up underneath and wetting the roof? I'll have to put down the black tar paper over the roof once I remove the shingles, but when I hammer down the corrugated roofing, wont drops of rain seep through and into the roof itself? Should there be anything else added to prevent any moisture from accessing the inside of the garage?
We have an Ondura roof on our porch which is getting worn (it is 21 years old). Question: Can we leave the Ondura roof and cover it with a metal roof or must we first remove the Ondura roof? Thanks!
I like the stuff and used it on two projects. Unfortunately, I can’t seem to buy it anymore, even after calling Ondura. Perhaps they are discontinuing the product?
You're awesome thanks for the time invested in making this video !
Very helpful. Tips very helpful. Thanks for your patience and video
I’m 7 years late but what length gasket nails do you recommend? I’m guessing at least 2”?
I am in the process of putting this on a porch roof in S.W. Va. I have read the sheets that come with the roofing. It say to repaint every 5 to 10 years. My question is how do you paint it when you cant walk on it. It has been about 80 degrees here now and if you put any pressure on it with a hand or knee it caves in. I built the board but sometimes you reach out to put in a screw and it really bucks down. Thank you,
Wish I could buy this roofing product in Australia, we are missing out on all the good building products, you guys in the USA have much bigger range of products.
thank you , best Ondura/shipping container roofing video ever
I see this product on a lot of European videos but never in Home Depot. What is the lifespan of this product versus metal corrugated roofing?
Great video, thanks...Don't miss the fastener head when nailing :)
Hi thanks for the video,
Is this product good or should I say good for those states that we get snow????? ❄️
I looked at this product many times at Menards but it sounds like they do not have many sales. I live in Northeast Iowa. Also right off would like to ask about the short stuff I seen on Ebay or someplace. It looks just like Ondura shape etc but short to make a tile look. Are the short panels available from Ondura or would you recommend just cutting them to get the tile look. I also wonder if a overlapping tile-look app would be a more solid job since you would be screwing in two panels. Also, does Ondura compare to shingles against hail damage and insurance coverage on a house?? Thanks !
I second that question!
I’ve ripped this stuff off of a roof where it had lived it useful life, what a nightmare! Those nails don’t back off and don’t like to come out. I’d never personally put this on a house but it does seem like a good product for a shed or a cabin
Thanks for all the hints.
Fantastic demonstration thank you for all the extra tips at the end those were really really helpful
Very good vidéo,i was interesting about ondura roof for my barn, and after this vidéo it's with that roofing i will do it in Canada !!! Thank you,
I'd like to use them on a metal-framed chicken run. It is possible? It seems would have to add some support to the frame to support the panels.
Do the bees going through those holes in that rubber? Thanks for the video!
Excellent. Very helpful. Thanks. God bless.
Very informative and well presented. Thanks.
I'm about to roof my new 12'x16' shed. It will have a medium pitch roof (3' peak over 12' wide). I saw these panels at Lowe's. It will have 1/2" plywood decking, first truss completed, will make 12 more copies, for 16" centers. I think I'll use these panels. Btw this is a side project. The main one is the container home I'm building. I'll be using metal on that.
The video uses nails for the projects shown. Home Depot seems to only carry "Self Sealing" Paulin screws that come in 2 lengths: 10 x 1-1/2 and 10 x 2-inch ! For an OSB board (1/2 in. thick) project what length of screw would I use ?
Beautiful, which country?
probably a stupid quiestion but do you use a normal blade on the circular saw to cut the metal sheets or do you need a blade made for metal?
Can I use 2” roofing screws (with neoprene washer) for this product? The store that sells the panels never has the nails in stock and they are overpriced anyway.
Is there a method of attaching the panels that doesn't involve screws or nails with vinyl washers that will fail over time?
OK this won me over for my slant roof small barn.
I appreciate the fascia flashing options.
Great video mate,What are your thoughts of using tek roofing screws instead of nails?easy to romove and much stronger holding power,
I have the same question, I know how the sun can deteriorate the vinyl on other things, those nails or screws won't seal for too many years!
I was thinking how can i walk on it!?, then he made the board and saved the day! This stuff is dandy!
Excellent video!
What's the minimum pitch for ondura? I see the front of your building looks to be around 1/12 ish?
I am looking to use this on a 1/12 carport, with a full deck. Would it work?
I see onduline europe has instructions for overlapping 2 corregations on lower pitch roofs. Can ondura do this also?
It's a great video, and inspired me to explore Ondura. However, the reviews are horrible in terms of its durability.
What is the advantage of using this material?
How would I attach Ondura to vinyl siding like adding on a porch
Great video! Thanks
Can you walk on these as long as you are careful to only step where the fasteners are such as with metal roofing?
Thanks this was very helpful!
Totally bummed; it's only available in four dark colors now; green, brownish red, brown, and black. Would have loved grey, which looks a lot like galvanized metal.
Excellent video. I feel more comfortable to start my project. But, if i may, dont use that trick 8:26 on a slope greater that 4/12, or you will be going down like an olympian at bobsleigh competition... ;-)
Can I double skin Corrugated sheet on to cement Corrugated sheets.
Very informative thank you
Awesome, thanks great work.
EXCELLENT VIDEO THANK YOU
Hard to tell which side is up. And tips on this? Both sides are brown on mine.
Mine just got delivered and I was thinking the same thing.....I noticed when he was installing it, he had the side facing up that had the barcode sticker on it 🤷🏻♂️
Can it be added over shingles?
If I use the foam closure strips on the bottom under the panel, do I also need them under the panels at the top or does the strips that are held in by the ridge cap suffice?
Those foam closure strip are not going to be water tight, they have holes in them.
Would you use this on metal framed gazebo?
Would it be safe to frame the pitched frame the same way you would frame a wall? Or does it have to be done the way it’s shown in the video?
Very good tips
Is Ondura the same company as British Onduline?
thanks u explain very good!!
Thanks it was great help
Insurance company's in West Virginia will not insure a house with ondura roofing..
Come and show me how to do this on my shed in Liverpool uk
If I am going through sheet insulation is there a longer nail available or do you just preinstall wood runners to attach to
Good video. Love the tips
Did you have to drill the holes, or are they pre-drilled?
No need to predrill the holes. You can drive nails or screws directly through the ONDURA sheets. Please use washered nails or screws. We sell washered nails and washered screws that are color matched to the ONDURA sheets.
This guy should be president.
Super! Pomogłeś chłopie.
Great video thanks for sharing 👍👍
Also what spacing would fasteners be if installed as vertical siding.
I want to use these panels on an octagonal gazebo, so I will be cutting sheets on a diagonal. Any suggestions on how to join the hips?
The hips can be covered with ridge caps. A support will be needed on each side of the hip, into which the fasteners will go to hold down the ridge cap.
Nice job bro!
We have a shed masonary but get condensation what's the best way to help thus ? Thanks
Kevin Hancock buy the ondurline roof vents
Don't rodent type critters simply chew through the foam?
GREAT VIDEO
Dude. Awesome, thank you.
thank you Joe!
so helpful !!! thank you
thanks man. well done .
thanks a lot show video is wonderful
how long do those last?
My patio roof lasted 18 years and I then coated it with elastomeric paint. Good for another 10 years I hope.
What about roof vents?
Don’t buy their screws and those sponges things. It’s ridiculous expensive. They sells screws like those in any hardware and use them spray foam cans. It do a better job but 10 times cheaper.
THE MOST INFORMATIVE VIDEO I HAVE FOUND ON THIS SUBJECT ( * * * * * )
Thank you. We are very happy with the videos that Joe does for us. He clearly shows all the steps in the process and explains all the details.
Can i stand on the zink roof? Im 70kg.
Don't stand on it - it will most likely crack
what kind of flashing at 6:03?
加一层然后搭配屋顶不銹钢板包边十螺旋钢釘🌟✨🔰
Ridge cap is absolutely worthless and will break through and rain water will pour in so I would use an aluminum ridge cap.
Afraid to use it. Afraid the wind rip it off
