Saw him at the Mariposa Folk Festival in the late 80s. Life changing for a young songwriter. The was the archetype.
Back in the 70s and 80s and up to the present, really, we didn't appreciate what we had. We thought it was normal and would always be here, heh. Man, thankfully, much of it was recorded so that we could all go back and relive it. Nothing lasts forever but a song. RIP Guy, Susana, Townes, Leon, Waylon, and all the others that I can't remember. Thank you for the everlasting gifts.
Woke up singing this, gonna be a good day
Goosebumps and tears of joy! That was so beautiful!
Enjoying all these videos! Love Guy Clark!
I love this in so, so many ways.
Whoever that fiddler is, I'm in love.
Stuart Duncan
so wonderful
Of course he was one of the first ones to hear this, his wife Susanna and Richard Leigh wrote it. I have been a fan of his since I heard him on a rerun of a singer/songwriters show in 1986, it had been filmed in 1983.
Such a talent. Gone far too soon..........
Who's the fiddle player?
He introduced him in the first song (Texas 1947), I think he said Stuart Duncan.
@@sealevelbear I'm guessing you are right. Stuart Duncan is a big name. I've heard it before, along with Mark O'Connor.
