      They are, flowy, fast on a surface that can be ridden in any weather, some nice tabletop jumps too, one of the few jumps I'll attempt, too scared 😂 to try gap jumps which they have at a trail called Jacks Track here at Callendar Estate, they have also updated another red trail called "Berm donor" to include new berms and tabletop jumps as well, worth a look if interested! 😁🤘🤙

    Been a few times since it opened again but today was the first time in the dry and the berms are starting to bed in - that section down at 3:02 does not look steep on here but it's definitely a surprise first time you hit it! Great run - my best is nearer the 4 min mark but usually we stop a the break - will need to do it in one goo soon (also on an ebike)

    • @garyalexander3281
      @garyalexander3281  4 роки тому

      I enjoyed it as well, as you say trails starting to bed in a bit better, bit loose still on Berm Donor near the top, have ridden liar liar several times I one go (great thing about the ebikes) my top Strava time was 3:03, that steep section twisting into the two berms is fun 😁🤙

    Awesome flowi trail mate! Got another to my list thx for sharing this 😉 are you using some post production stabilization on video?

    • @garyalexander3281
      @garyalexander3281  4 роки тому

      Thanks Charlie, much appreciated! The equipment I use is the GoPro hero 7 black using the image stabilization settings, GoPro chesty v2 which is more stable than the cheap eBay one I used to have, chest mounted upside down, settings protune 4k with superview activated, in post I correct GoPro barrel distortion with a bit of software called Defishr, then import into Premiere Pro for editing and colour correction. Hope this helps and thanks for asking! 😁🚵⚡🤘

      @@TheJcoch Depending on where you want to travel, local to Falkirk you have Torwood Trails, Torwood forest just a few miles north of Larbert which has a good mix of loam, jumps and steep techy trails, near Beecraigs you have Kinneil Wood in Boness which has a pump track and public built trails in the forest area which have a mix of berms, small but challenging bombholes and plenty of jumps if you're into that. For fast and flowy fun a bit further away from Falkirk there's there's Carron Valley mountain bike trails which consists one one uphill and three main downhill trails which are great fun, I particularly like one called Runway, plenty table top jumps and drop offs built into trail. All on Trailforks, also I have videos of all these trails, feel free to have a look, cheers! 😁👍

    Really cool trail, what Ebike do you use? It seems to have plenty of torque

    • @garyalexander3281
      @garyalexander3281  4 роки тому +1

      Thanks, is a fun trail to ride, my bike is the Decathlon Stilus, which including decent components for the price it has a Bosch 4th Gen motor which has 75nm of Torque which with an firmware update goes up to 85nm, perfect for going up hills with ease 😁👍

    • @FortySomethingRider
      @FortySomethingRider 4 роки тому

      Gary Alexander I heard about that firmware update, isn’t it amazing that they keep on improving the performance of your bike after you have purchased it? Kudos to Bosch and it proves once more that decathlon is absolutely ace at build great products and selecting the right components!

    • @garyalexander3281
      @garyalexander3281  4 роки тому +1

      @@FortySomethingRider I must admit that Decathlon are good at putting together some good specced bikes for the price they sell them at, when I first heard of them I thought their bikes would be along the lines of Sports Direct bikes but are actually much, much better.

    • @FortySomethingRider
      @FortySomethingRider 4 роки тому

      Gary Alexander most of their stuff is, you see the big difference is decathlon actually likes sport, sports direct is just after your wallet

    • @garyalexander3281
      @garyalexander3281  4 роки тому

      @@FortySomethingRider It pays to research what you are buying, so many mountain bikes that look decent and cheap but in reality you wouldn't want to take them down the trails we ride, but from a begginers point of view, they would probably take the word of staff that are more interested in making money than selling them a bike that could handle different trails and terrain safely.

  • @squidridesmtb

    So, what's your verdict on it? Those last berms are going to be mega fast once it's properly bedded in!

    • @garyalexander3281
      @garyalexander3281  4 роки тому +1

      Yeah overall a fun flowy trail, bit of pedalling in the middle, enjoying the tabletop jumps, berms great will be interesting as you say once bedded in how fast they are then, will be back for more, It's also one of the trails I can ebike to from my house and get there in about 40 minutes approximately, so handy there 👍

    • @squidridesmtb
      @squidridesmtb 4 роки тому +1

      @@garyalexander3281 no e-bike for me, but the trails are only 20 minutes in the car. I rode the new one once, then spent the rest of last Saturday morning just finally getting to grips with the gaps on Jack's Track. It's such a nice wee trail system there, I need to explore the area a bit more, though. :)

      @@squidridesmtb Including Callendar Estate there's also Torwood Mountain Bike Trails north of Larbert, which I have also cycled to, not sure if you have been but trails built by volunteers pretty good and a lot to choose from, including jump features, berms and loamy forest bits for good grip.

      Quite right, the new trails great fun, starts at the end of the old uphill trail which I think was the right idea by the trail builders to convert to downhill, plenty of tabletop jumps on it, plus berm donor, the original downhill trail has been updated so it now also has a coupe of tabletops jumps too 🤘🤙

      Fantastic news, that's great to hear for me it's been a great ebike that has got me from my house to Callendar estate which involves a lot of hill climbing and beyond to likes of Torwood outside Larbert, all cycling there and back. To conserve battery I normally use either eco or trail modes mainly and on a longer journey turn motor off when cycling on a flat or downhill road section.
