Hey well im 14 years old, i play bass now, influemced by steve harris (iron maiden), cliff burton (metallica (rip)) and David ellefson (megadeth) but i have no one to jam with, all my friends like rap and hiphop etc and don't care about metal. No one today plays intruments anymore cuz they lazy fucks, i hope that i will find people aventually and just have fun and maybe do it for the living. This music is the most powerfull thing that exists and no one seems to care anymore, great video man. True reaction and you understand it, more poeple should give it a chance like you do!!

Iron Maiden were started in east London, UK. They played for the first few years in the London rock pubs, so very small venues. The Hammersmith Odeon (now Apollo) was one of 3 or 4 decent sized venues, with Wembley Arena and The Rainbow Finsbury Park, all in London, so this was very much a home town gig ! Big crowd gigs are always outside here in the UK as no really large venues exist, apart from sports stadiums, hence Donington Park and Knebworth. Funny you pointed out the venue size, as i have only seen them in a 200 person Pub or smaller !

They don't let him go. He dies but finds there is an afterlife & his soul is released & flies away. It actually states this in the lyrics. Hence the cry, "Hallowed be thy name!" It was from their third album, "The Number of the beast." I saw them at the Hammersmith Odeon (later Apollo) on the following "Piece of Mind" (their 4th album) tour.

I got a kick out of this. The one song you don't know and it is one of their most famous songs. Now you know it. The guitar Dave Murray had is an Ibanez Destroyer II sunburst. I used to have the same guitar. Had a very rich sound. Adrian Smith in the sport coat, yeah, he needed a leather jacket.
Legends of metal are in Europe and Asia, namely Japan and in Japan they wear high heels.
Even in Europe many bands are getting older.

I saw them on that tour in 1982 or 1983 the first tour with Bruce Dickinson! He was and still is a hell of a frontman. It was a time when you HAD to learn to play music, today all you need is a computer and with auto-tune every one can have a great voice. Today you can have a hologram as a lead singer ua-cam.com/video/gVEwoKawbHE/v-deo.html . But there is hope 2 years ago I click on a thumbnail and it became my new favorite group, BAND-MAID. And I see young peoples reacting to "old" music and loving it, so maybe we will see a new IRON MAIDEN or new METALLICA!

Iron maiden was formed in 1975 but released their first album (self-titled) in 1980, second (Killers) in 1981 and this one (Number Of The Beast) in 1982. First two albums were with a different singer (Paul DiAnno).
Young Clive Burr (RIP) on drums, who developed multiple sclerosis and was replaced by Nicko McBrain. Hallowed be thy name, Clive.
I don't know how old this is, but size of the venue might not be a definitive indication though ;) I saw them when I was in Mexico, somewhere around 2009 and it was a rather small place (kinda like a basketball arena), it was amazing.
And with ex drummer Clive Burr,that has passed away,way too young,in a wheelchair the last years,
If there is ONE song from Iron maiden, this is "Hallowed be thy name". Number of the beast was the first album i had when I was young, the background story for this album quite funny but well, the most important is that when I first put this album on my pickup it blew my mind, especially with this epic song.

you can tell by bruce's hair/ he cut it short to be a professional passenger jet pilot. forced retirement at age 65 so it is long again.

I think there's a limited amount of amazing riffs before you start repeating others. Maybe thats why there doesn't seem to be any future icons early in their career.

Young guitarist don't really seem to want to learn how ro solo and really master their instruments, guitar heroes just don't exist anymore. Sadly those days are gone.
well guitar hero does exist, as a video game format, which initially, I thought would get more kids into playing instruments, but kids are just about the video games and I'm sure guitar hero is not one of the more popular games any longer.... Seems like a whole bunch of kids make beats though, which is fine, but doesn't require the years of practice and mastery like a musical instrument.
Thankfully Iron Maiden is still around and still touring and still amazing.
