I watched this approx 35 years ago on a PBS show called Alive From Off Center. I was lucky enough to record it on VHS, but lost the tape in a house fire. I’m so glad to see it again on UA-cam, brings me back to a wonderous time!
Dancers include:- Ellen van Schuylenburch Mathew Hawkins Julie Hood Les Child and Michael Clark. Trojan on "scenic" elements. Bodymap on costumes. Leigh Bowery "involved". I think filmed by Charles Atlas. Part of which was in show called " Our Cacophony H"
michael clark choreography dance 1 1150pm 13.4.23 i think this featured on south bank show, didnt it? anyhow; any chance that the scottish dude can release the full Edinburgh filmed concert on dvd?
Yeah, a film which isn't available ANYWHERE on earth, unless you know someone in a MUSEUM, which is ridiculous because this was always meant to be widely disseminated. When art like this becomes elitist, it dies.
Wow. I saw Michael Clarke & co with The Fall at the Saddlers Wells Theater (theatre!) in London in 88 or 89. I'm trying to find it. I thought it was I Am Curious (Orange)...we'll see! This is a good first find. Yes, I swooned, too, when I saw that 'hawked Michael. He's pure cor.
Is that true Charles Atlas filmed this? I dig Michael Clark's stuff. The song is "Copped It" by The Fall (it's on the excellent THE WONDERFUL AND FRIGHTENING WORLD OF THE FALL, 1988).
Truly amazing. Michael and Mark E were bonafide genuises.
Michael Clark was / is utterly awesome.
The Fall, Michael Clark and Leigh Bowery. An unsurpassable triumverate
And Gavin Friday...
Costumes by Leigh Bowery. Great documentary, if you can find it: "The Legend of Leigh Bowery", includes some nice interviews by Michael Clark

Plus dancer Gaby Agis who I danced with in the early 80's.
@@ArtforArtsSake-kt1sk Well remembered - Gaby at the time had the same agents as Michael. She was not on the tour with us.
"brilliant" doesn't even scratch the surface
Youth, beauty, and dedication to the state of the art.
fuk affe
incredible!!! and still original to this day.
RIP Mark E. Smith
If I recollect I saw Micheal and Leigh and I think the the at sadlers wells in the 80s .....incredible show
I went to see this at Sadler's Wells in London many years ago. Brilliant and totally mad.
It is called 'Copped It' and is on 'The Wonderful + Frightening World of the Fall' album.
@ghostalks...
The guy with the hawk is Michael Clark...He is awesome!!
Great. I always thought Gavin Friday sounds like Bowie on this. Saw the Kurious Oranj performance at Sadlers Wells-fantastic..

mravka9 it’s unfortunate to say but money really makes the man, and it made this man that’s for sure
Well if it's elitist we are the elite *Fuck. People*
Thank Biden and Zelensky
@@robinthehippie95 which man? I can have some ? You rich?
It came out in 1984 not 1988! Sorry. 1988 was Frenz Experiment (also excellent).
Love it, love it, love it. Thank you Michael, Mark and all.
I've loved the fall since i've been a wee lad
@kvvnrggn Yes, Charles Atlas filmed it. It's taken from a feature-length documentary about Michael Clark, "Hail the New Puritan" (1985-6).
This video on pbs in the 80s is how i first learned of The Fall. RIP
Great to see this, one of my fave Fall songs too. And that dancer at 2.55, bloody hell! Beautiful!
The dude? Eww 🤢🤣
...best episode of Blackadder I've ever seen...thought Captain Darling on particularly good form...and Baldrick rather fetching...

@JeNNiFeR483 It's called "dance," darling. Look it up.
The Fall❤️
Anyone remember a Clark performance on The Tube C4 with The Fall's Hit the north?
Clark was wearing a black veil. I'd love to see it posted!!
@ccm800 yes, but that is not the singer. He is lip-syncing to the inimitable (but not nearly as easy on the eyes) Mark E. Smith from the mighty FALL.
This is like, the dr. seuss of dance...
Who has Kurious orange?
I get it, those are EGG PLANTS!!! BWA HA HA HA HA!!!1
incredible
I have seen Michaek Clark several times in London and love his company and performances. They really are something to see live
funny that...the exact same thing happens next door when a pizza arrives...
Didn't Lee Bowery work on this too?
Meetingminutes I believe he designed the costumes
Hey! This was uploaded on my birthday. Which, by the way, is also Olivia Newton-John's and Martin Heidegger's birthday. Weird.

Punk rock ballet ✋ these were the 80s cool kids
"Copped It" from the album "The Wonderful and Frightening World of the Fall".
Почему я не видел этого раньше! Странное чувство нереальности реальности. Это вершина декаданса в балете.
"Atrocious. I can’t believe I brought friends"
Do it 1.5 times faster
The 'singer' lypsynching is a girl, the dancer Gabby Aggis
Agis

It's 'Puritan Dance' from ''Hail the New Puritan' (1984).
nice fashion and love dance
This sounds like an outtake from the Kurious Oranj LP but not on CD. Also, do i hear the VIRGIN PRUNES guy in this??
Yeah, it's on "The Wonderful and Frightening World of the Fall", from 1984. And, yes, that's Gavin Friday from the Virgin Prunes on back-up.
Yup. "Copped It". One of The Fall's best, imho.
