Are you saved? Where will you go when you die? Heaven or hell?
The Gospel, which means the Good News is the news that God Almighty, the Creator came in the flesh as Jesus Christ to take away the sin of the world. The one God is a trinity of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. The Son came and laid down his own life to save ours. His sacrifice on the cross paid the price for our redemption with his own blood. On the third day he rose from dead and offers the gift of salvation and forgiveness to those that repent and trust in him. Although God's creation was created perfect, having no death, sickness and disease, the creation became corrupted through Adam and Eve in them disobeying God. In this rebellion the creation became fallen through the curse of sin and mankind became separated from God. This world is fallen, but God offers reconciliation to him through his provision at the cross. Ultimately God will restore his creation to perfection when he returns but those that reject his offer of redemption will remain condemned by their sins and go to hell.

The real Vlad's son was named Mircea the Evil and was every bit as infamous and cruel as his father. Legend says that he was abandoned by his father during an escape from the castle under Ottoman attack since he didn't have the time to pick him back up. He was raised by a shepherd from the village he was dropped on. When he grew up the shepherd went to Vlad and presented his grown up son, and Vlad rewarded him lands and money. Eventually, Mircea adopted his father's brutal methods towards his traitorous subjects but was eventually assassinated while attending mass. Mircea also had a son, who killed a bunch of noblemen with his bare hands. Bloody history!
@Milan Kraguljac Every politician in those times was an asshole, but I feel like Vlad was on another level. It might have been justified, but I wouldn't be surprised if there was plain old sadism involved. He was much more ruthless than other successful warlords at the time, like Stephen or Michael.

Stephen is described as a short guy who got angry very easly. With that temperament I guess he wasn't really the kindest man. He was religious, so he build a lot of churches and monasteries, but he also slept with a lot of women. We had a joke here, that if someone is from Moldova (the moldovan part of Romania, the one bordering the Republic of Moldova), they might be a descendant of Stephen the Great. They would learn the Turkish language, receive an elite education by the Ottomans, live in the Ottoman empire and later they would be sent back. When Vlad was a kid his father gave him away. It was part of a treaty they also had to pay tribute. When Vlad became 17 years old he was sent back. He became the new king. His father had died. Unlike his father he wasnt obedient to the Ottomans. He refused to pay tribute and even killed the messengers that the Ottomans sent. Sultan Mehmet told Vlad to give 500 young boys to become soldiers as a punishment. His Way Services Blog that's the moment you realized that they wanted to go to war with him because he had become the people's champion and mehmed, the Ottomans wasnt about that shit at all... This was all bait to get him to war.
He started to war to stop the expansion of the Ottomans . The Ottomans have taken him and his brother as hostages for his father subordination. Then , the Ottomans send two people in order to call him to Konstantinopel, but in reality to murder him. Then , Vlad attacked the ottoman occupied areas.
In this sense Vlad is hero of the people of the Balkan for freedom and independence . If he did cruel things also to his people is another discussion. Today Vlad is remembered by his people and the ottoman armies and empire is defeated and and can be found only in the history books .
I believe, it was to simply provoke him and also to let him know how the feared Vlad was powerless in the face of Mehmed. They forgot, when an animal is cornered they are at their most dangerous.
Yeah, well, Mehmed asked for war in the first place when he demanded those one thousand boys! I think he wanted trouble. He's so evil, and delights in taking advantage of people. Vlad offered to take the boys' places, but not only was he scoffed at, but then Mehmed demanded his son as well. Sorry, pal. You can't just trample on people and expect them to play dead for you! The execution of this film wasn’t that great but it did things right that other films (especially The Mummy) didn’t even try to do.
1: Establishing motivation and backstory for the main character
2: A real conflict, in multiple different ways
3: Relating and sympathizing with the main character
4: Personal stakes
5: A fitting end, even if it is confusing
This scene alone tells me everything I need to know about Vlad and why he is doing the things he does, plus a backstory (while not well shown or executed) that makes me understand him. I get his conflict just through one conversation with his wife and subtle acting. I can feel the weight of the conflict he has within himself. I want him to win and save his family. I got none of that in The Mummy.
