- Space Mountain with the lights on and pre-show as seen in 1996. I taped this on February 2 1996 at an Annual Passholder night at Disneyland. They let us go on rides with the lights on, walking through, and more back then when there weren't so many of us...
I missed out on riding the old Space Mountain. I bet it was pretty cool to look up and see the rockets flying by. I wish they would bring it back.

@@KeenaKindragonDisney doesn’t have a good track record of bringing back rides that guests enjoyed. Look at Mr. Toads Wild Ride at Disney World, many of the former Epcot rides, and Splash Mountain.

@@KeenaKindragon yes i totally remember that video you posted.i also remember when indiana jones first opened we were there about 1 or 2 months after and i remember we waited like 2 hours in line,thank god for fast pass and single rider line.remember the one on star tours back then,that one was horriably cheesy but nessescary lol.glad your having a awsome christmas,mines pretty good to other than wishing i was at disney*hehe*.xoxoxmarianne
The only space mountain that currently has a preshow is Tokyo's which is literally coca cola propaganda 💀. My sister and I would make fun of how tacky it was while lining up.

Exactly! It was an annual passholder party. They used to do them after hours, they were free to annual passholders.

gold so great, did the old ship have any markings on it? It didnt appear so? It was made into the dl05, the one in florida appears to still be the same, and has markings x-01...

@@KeenaKindragon Yes I discovered from one old video it was marked dl-3000 on the right underside, you can probably only see it coming off the ride.

why safety video's background is just like Disneyland pairs space mountain ?
That safety video cracks me up! It's so 90's!
I've also never seen this version before, but it does make sense. The video screens were added around the same time Space Mountain in Paris openend and they pretty often reuse the same "style" of safety video for different versions of a ride. The saftey video for Space Mountain Mission 2 is also quite similar to the 2005 Anaheim version.

Oddly enough, the footage at 3:24 is also used in Magic Kingdom’s safety video, which I believe has been playing since 1994.
