  • Join us as we explore the mystic landscapes of Ireland with our guide, Jason Ó Fionnáin, through FIONNÁIN Creative Arts in partnership with Lakeland Language Centre. In this adventure, we visit two legendary sites: Queen Medb’s Tomb on Knocknarea and the stunning Glencar Waterfall.
Atop Knocknarea, we encounter the massive stone cairn known as Medb’s Tomb, where the warrior queen of Connacht is said to be buried upright, facing her enemies. The myths of Queen Medb and the epic Táin Bó Cúailnge echo through this ancient site, adding a sense of history and power to the landscape.
From there, we journey to Glencar Waterfall, a place of inspiration for the Yeats brothers. The cascading waters and serene atmosphere of Glencar inspired W.B. Yeats’ famous poem “The Stolen Child” and captivated his brother Jack B. Yeats, influencing his artwork. This magical spot, with its ties to Irish art and poetry, offers a glimpse into the creative spirit of Ireland.
This unforgettable adventure in 2024 captures the beauty, history, and artistic inspiration of these iconic Irish landmarks.
Watch the full journey and immerse yourself in Ireland’s rich mythology and natural wonders!
