I'm barely a minute in the video, and want to say that it's very heartening that for a game with such little coverage, people love it to the point they really want to get word of it out there more strongly. I dearly love this prehistoric Hieronymus Boschean-type monster world full of freaks, violence, imagination, love and perseverance. So in advance-- thank you for the video.

Your welcome, I wasn't expecting such quality when I first tried the game and just fell in love with it. I really wanted to get all the armour pieces in the game but had so much trouble finding one of them due to the lack on guides online that I had to give up on it which was a shame. What was your favourite part of the game? For me it was The Amokuali.

@@BioBlame I'm glad that your expectations were positively dashed, makes it all the nicer to experience a tale like Clash's. All things considered, the plot isn't even that grand-scale or bombastic, despite the expanded lore and themes that characters like the Outcast, Word and Kax-Teh touch upon.
Have yet to properly replay it myself to find back all the armor pieces. I never found a single grand Style figurine in my playthrough. Now that there's a NG+ update i'll have to do my due diligence. Want to experiment with the Stances more as well.
Favourite part, good question... (warning, this comment is ending up bigger than I anticipated).
The Amokuali definitely sticks in the mind very strongly. Amidst all the grey bricks it's still quite colorful and has a unique architecture. It also sticks in my mind because I accidentally there *before* going to the Zonectic Mountains, where the Brother and the Wandering Players reside. Lemme tell ya, facing Moon-Sun underleveled makes you fear the grabs and the hammer :P
The conversation between Pseudo and the Boy, and the allusions to Pseudo's master there stick with me too. Pseudo really made it clear he has bad memories from his time at the training circle with the Master.
      "One day he just... left."
      "That's mean."
      "It's life."
      "My grandpa never left me."
"And how did that work out for him?"
Pseudo doesn't apologize, but immediately afterwards he does want to steer the conversation and his tone to be more kind. I like that moment.
The Corwid Forest or Forest of Wonder got me confused as all get-out but it had some fun moments between Pseudo and the Boy too. More jovial, more room for jokes. The Nigel Thornberry lions won't leave my mind anytime soon. (i believe they were called Alchroleons). And the Corwids, as beholden to a single area as they are, leave an impression. And that's not just thanks to the pudgy guy's big spiked mace or the lady's chest channon. Or Sphaxas' (orange pigeon blood guy) stomps. They've all got a presence.
That's what made all the Mercenaries fun for me as well, alongside those moments where they talk about their motivation before you are in combat range. I went to the trouble of going first-person to learn all their names, that's how much I liked them.
In any case, for the areas... There's a bit between the first encounter with Tsiu Kotopol (the orange mushroom turkey) on the road to the Amokuali, and the first tent at the Amokuali. There's some huts there, a swampy area, big spherical clay homes on platforms, some of which collapsed, at the bottom there's a little lake with an enemy camp, and at a cliff there's Kroggo Longtooth with a fishing rod.
The colors and sky and view at those parts are supremely pretty. It feels... nice there. Like you can feel the wind, as well as the coolness of the water down below, and enjoy the nature that is nearby. And look at the big tree in the distance, and the town beyond.
Lonely Coast is a good one too. The swamp area is nice too, if confusing again :P
But the Lonely Coast's music carries a sense of solitude, a melancholy that touches close to the soul. Ties together to the Boy's wonderings about what is beyond the seas. It's like you're stuck in the afternoon of an autumnal day, where the chill of the wind can be felt under your skin. And it only gets warm when the clouds allow the sun to shine through.
I feel a bit similar about the Town. The weather there, the lighting and the music reminds me somewhat of a summer's day. One where it's just a bit too warm, and you start to feel itching on your back as you work outside. There is some beauty, safety, structure and stability in a very rough world. But it doesn't feel comfortable.
That ending segment is absolutely *phenomenal*, man.
The symphony of The Boy Calls from the very beginning of the game, but this time as a merciless celebration of sacrifice for a greater good. It is not evil, but there is grand emotion and pain. The vocals seem to whirl and dance around you and carry Pseudo's desperation like an angry tempest.
Out of these parts, i do think that part in-between Tsiu Kotopol's house and the first tent at the Amokuali was my favourite.

Wish you a lot of fun on it when you may get to it! The Zeno Clash games have always had a very striking art style and direction, and Clash is the most unique and strong of them all so far. The gameplay and story are good too.

I remember seeing Xeno Clash before but I never heard of this game
The artifacts sounds like Sealstones in Valkyrie Profile 2 but in that game you can use the negative sealstones on enemies by placing them in a dais in a dungeon... but you have to hold it till you reach the dais.

Never heard of that game. Doesn't quite sound like it matches up with Clash: AoC's artifacts.
It's a central part of the game's lore, called The Ritual, and is the only law in the land. That being: if someone challenges you to the Ritual before a physical altercation, you have to comply.
Clash's artifacts simply are a special condition that the winner of the dice game gets to enforce. The winner has to physically collect artifacts of a particular condition in order to spend it for the condition to take effect.
      SO it goes rather like
      - Find Artifact
      - Challenge enemy to ritual (if you want to, it's nigh fully optional)
      - Choose one of the Artifacts with the condition you want to take effect
      - Win dice game? Your Artifact is spent and its condition is taken to effect.
      - Lose dice game? You keep your artifact and the condition takes no effect.
Can very warmly recommend Clash: AoC. There's a lovely story with good voice acting to it, and there is quite a bit to the different fighting styles as well. All of them got their own full animation movesets and utility.
      - Boxing is the all-rounder
      - Slash-stance hits widely, keeps a kind of hunched, low profile, but i believe damage isn't as high as boxing.
      - Spear Stance is the farthest-reaching stance with concentrated quite high damage, though has some longer recovery animations.
Flipping love this game and its freaky monster world.

Sounds like most people haven't heard of this game and how it relates to Zeno Clash, such a shame though. This is really a great game. I still have Valkyrie Profile 2 on my list to try at some point, who knows when I'll get to it though xD.
