New sub, enjoying your videos! Thanks for letting Zeus join us.❤ I'm still trying to figure out my planners. Determined to make a final decision before end of year. Oh the elusive planner peace ...
Thank you so much! I love that this channel is growing and people like you are taking the time to comment. I love talking planners. Zeus does what he wants. He loves the limelight LOL. Hope you can sort out what you want for next year. There are tons of great videos out there showing so many options! Thank you for comment!
New sub here! I agree with you! Instead of a dated Hobonichi, I just got a Hobonichi notebook. I think that was the right choice. I didn’t get a Sterling Ink, Erin Condren, or Passion planner either. Just one Moleskine Daily. And then notebooks. I think I’ll get a SI, EC, and Moleskine notebooks. Going with one dated and then the rest being notebooks makes me feel better about it because they aren’t dated except the one.
Thanks for subscribing! I think the notebook option is a great one. It's so hard to fill up multiple dated planners but you don't have to worry if they are undated or notebooks. Plus, I always need a rough notebook to through random stuff in!
Congrats on reaching 500 subs! I've newly followed you because I enjoy your calm, chatty videos about planners. 😊 I have a few planners in common with you that I will not be buying in the next year. I also have to add Makselife to the list on my part. I learned her goal setting system with the planner I bought last year but also learned that it doesn't really work for me. I get along much better with the Sterling Ink goal breakdown system and reaching milestones on my own terms and at my own pace in the journal pages. It is a great theory, it just doesn't work for me and my brain. I'm with you on EC and Passion Planner as well. I remember also when Passion Planner was much more affordable in 2017/18. I love the EC paper but I just feel like I can't use the space like I want to because I fear running out of space each week.
Thank you so much Kat! I hope you'll enjoy the videos to come. I have always been intrigued about Makselife but they were quite expensive and then to ship to Canada was even more. Especially as I'm not sure I'd find the system that helpful. It looks too robust for me. EC paper is top notch but there is something about the Tomoe River Paper that hooks me! Thanks for the comment!
First video, very nice. I thought you were going to say you have discovered Laurel Denise Planners. They are such a game changer and becoming very popular. Would be interested in your review of them. Thanks for a nice video. I'll subscribe and make it 501, lol
They are becoming popular. I see a lot of people using them. I think they would be especially good for content creators. I would love to try one out. Maybe in the new year? Thanks for the sub! 545 now ;)
Sitting here with my own orange 🐈 “Miss Mango” 😁 I enjoyed and appreciated hearing your thought processes for why certain planners are not going to be an option for you in 2025 - I have also been dwelling on “perfect for me” planner recently, my birthday is beginning of September - so I have made that my personal beginning of a new year and started my new planner this month - after much thought and internal dialogue I went with undated sterling ink. But… could not decide on size 😜 I ended up buying the A5 & the weeks size with extra pages, after holding them in my hands and assessing what I really wanted to track in my planner - I decided on weeks size! - it fits in my purse making it easily accessible when I am at work or just out and about, not only does it contain monthly and weekly overviews, but I was able to divide blank page section into categories, including plenty of journaling pages, and financial/spending tracker pages - I am so happy with my decision. I think we have to planner bounce some in order to understand the features that will work best for ourselves and the season of our life - but I am so ready to not experience planner anxiety anymore. I think I may struggle some with all the new “shiny object” planners featured on everyone’s channels as we grow closer to the end of 2024 - but I am vowing to stick with my current system and remind myself that I have evaluated my true needs for a planner this year ( plus I know I have an undated A5 sitting in the wings if I just have to have a change 🤪)
@@SandandInk I'm happy that you have come to a planner peace for now. The weeks SI is so good. If I wasn't afraid of leaving the A5 I would definitely go to a full weeks. FOMO is definitely a thing but when you have evaluated your needs it's easier to say no. Thank you so much for watching and commenting!
Congratulations on 500! I echo your sentiment about Hobonichi vs Sterling Ink! I was just saying the same thing in my last video. I prefer Sterling Ink for all the same reasons you pointed out. Happy Planning in 2025!
Yep, SI have really solved my issues with the Hobo Cousin. I'm glad there is the option for people who like both :) Thank you and happy planning right back!
I think I love seeing how people use their Erin Condren, Passion Planner and Hobo, but none of them for me sadly! I get annoyed when I can’t fill all the space 😭 makes me planner look empty. I ended getting a planner similar to the b5 horizontal weekly
I agree. I like looking at the EC especially when people have used the sticker kits and made it pretty but I have a lot more function with my SI. Thanks for watching!
I am making a huge switch for 2015 and going to Hemlock & Oak for work and Plum Paper for home. I like the customization of Plum Paper and that I can order only 6 months at a time and try jt out. Then change for the next 6 months
Yes, Plum Paper are great for that. I have used them in the past and they are a good brand. I have heard great things about Hemlock and Oak too but not tried them. Let us know how you like it! Thanks for watching!
New sub here! Your video was recommended as ive been binging planner videos in search for a planner. The planner ive been using for years - an off the shelf planner from barnes and noble isnt offering a new one (july 24-dec 25). Last week I ordered the Erin Condran compact vertical (bold blooms) that i hope will arrive soon. Its my first "luxury planner" because this isnt the firat time ive had to get used to a new planner, and i want to know that it will be available next year when i need a new one. I have a pretty packed work schedule with lots of meetings and deadlines (weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annually). i wont be using it for journaling or decorating. Its all about the function for me. It looks bigger than any planner ive used before, but i think it will be okay since i dont travel with it beyond the board room. I picked the EC bc it has some nifty looking features like the inside covers and inserts that i can write on and wipe off that look useful. Congrats on the sub milestone!
EC planners are so good. The paper is perfection! If the CV doesn't work for you, the hourly might work with all your meetings etc. I hope you love it though! Thank you so much for watching!
I’ve tried some of the planners you have as well, and some didn’t work for me (EC and Plum Paper) and some I really liked such as for years I did a just a make it myself Bujo, and this year’s Planner…Hobonichi Cousin. First year I tried Hobonichi because I wanted more structure than I was willing to draw myself. The TRP took a bit to get used to, but I actually like it now. So, I really liked the organization, plus the whole daily page…drawbacks were the colors changing each month, the quote (I never want pre-printed quotes) taking up space, and the red/dark grey on weekends were visually distracting for me. I love the weekly vertical planning, and I felt like a dated day per page would be great, but the date on that actually feels like pressure…and then I feel like I’m wasting paper when I miss days. Also, the lack of empty grid pages for me to make my own trackers and other things I like to have…so, very much like you, I was drawn to the Sterling Ink which has the positives of the Hobo without the (for me personally) drawbacks. I’ve ordered the A6 Vertical Compact in Forest with the Gilded, cause..pretty! to use as an EDC in my purse. I tend to never bring the Cousin because it’s too big if I’m not bringing my backpack. I was going to get the A5 Common Planner (Vertical…in either Caramel or Forest) because that solved the dated daily pages issue…but now I’m thinking I’m not sure if I need two detailed planners. I thought that I would journal in the Cousin, and it just didn’t work for me that way, so I have several beautiful blank journals from Notebook Therapy, Archer & Olive and a Rhodia (I just love the Rhodia paper) and that may be my desktop for journaling, being creative, and just having some basic calendar items in it. I might wait to see how the A6 is working and if I feel like I need it, to get the A5 later. I’m excited to get it in the mail!! I also got a few of her vellums (cause I was close to free shipping) that are lovely and I haven’t had vellums before for tip ins, so looking forward to that as well. Looking forward to seeing what you chose!
I'm so excited for you to get your SI order! As I said in the video, I don't love writing in an A6 but they are cute as hell. The great thing about the SI's back pages being undated is that if you don't feel like journaling one day, it's not a big deal. That is a huge plus for me. A horizontal A5 would also be easier to journal in than a vertical if you wanted to go that route but a notebook works as well. I still haven't decided my final order. Thanks for watching and for your comment.
@@stephanieplansandreads You’re welcome for the comment! I ordered a Kokuyo A6 size notebook to use and carry around that I can add a few calendars and weeks in for the rest of the year, and see how that works for me. I think that will be more for jotting down to-do lists/shopping lists/random details from the day when I’m out, or that I need to have from a phone call or something. The A5 SI is something I’m just going back and forth on, because, like you, an A6 would be too small for a ‘journal’ and I can use the A5 months/weeks for more “fun journaling” and things about days, new words I like, different things like that, and then use the blank (or maybe dated…uhhhh….can’t decide…or maybe the “Avec” split) for general journaling and other longer writings, adding pictures or ephemera I pick up. The horizontal just doesn’t work for me, it’s hard to explain but visually, I think I’m so used to looking at a day as a list going downward that horizontal doesn’t register in my brain. I know other people love it (hence popularity of Hobo Weeks) and we’re all different, so it’s great to have different styles. I’m mentally planning what I want in my blank journals: one for recipes to organize all the random things I’ve printed out in a Manila folder…I need to watch how someone else did theirs to get some ideas of how to put it in some type of order, or use the index in a way where I can find things. Another for a chronic illness journal because there’s so much to keep track of, it really needs its own dedicated book. Plus, looking at what some other people have done, I’ve seen that they use it for (in my case, my husband) to grab if the ambulance is called and I’m out of it, or for me to grab so it’s easier to give info at the hospital or for staff to see if needed. FYI: for anyone…cause you never know…if your phone allows you to put health data in it and give access to it without the passcode (iPhones do this) put at least the emergency info in it like height/weight (they use that to calculate how much meds they may give) any allergies (especially severe ones…for me Penicillin will cause anaphylaxis,) blood type if known, meds you’re taking, any major health issues, and contact numbers. I remember the EMS responder commenting to me (trying to keep me awake I guess) that he was glad he had that and wished more people did it, cause it really helps them do their jobs to save you. Anyway…getting wayyyy off track, all this to lead to I agree on the A5…now, do I get Forest or Caramel? 😁 (Note: not trying to be dramatic, EMS has happened twice in 5 years, I just have a chronic situation that impacts daily life significantly that started 5 yrs ago, and it is what it is…not looking for sympathy or anything, just something that impacts my choices. I’m fine, no worries.)
I like EC's colorways but I don't care for the planners themselves. Well actually, their petite planners are nice! I've tried a Muji vertical planner and an undated A5. Great planners but not for me. Zeus is cute, btw!
