The odd and hilarious thing is that the sound they’re putting out was hated at the time by Hardcore kids but now since it’s endearing to be “the newest of old” and they have a transgendered person fronting it’s considered something better than it actually is. Making it more and more mainstream. These people are selling brand names. They're telling kids what to do in order to be popular. Saying it's okay to be inauthentic, to fake the funk. Honestly I'm shocked this is on this channel. I get that being bigger means you need to branch out a little bit, but hate-five is taking it in a bad direction. It promotes giving mediocrity a spotlight.
I see why people don’t like this band but honestly this is pretty good for the kind of music they play. Big fan of the whole screamo and metalcore revival thing anyways. Try bands like Wristmeetrazor, Portrayal of Guilt and Yotsuya Kaidan if you’re into this. Less chaotic but definitely the same vein.
It's... objectively more refined and well performed than any of that? Like if you go back and listen to Heavy Heavy Low Low you'll be like "wow this is awful". Most of that music was bad. It sounded like that because they were bad musicians. This is a good bit different.
