Nicely flown! Especially that first takeoff where you stayed low. In most videos of scale heli we see the folks just shoot up to 5ft and then fly like your average pod and boom. Not so much here and your not afraid to do low passes either! Good job one again. Have fun, Marc
Chris Browne I had a 550 size Synergy E5 inside. The fuselages are designed around the original Trex series of helicopters. MD stands McDonnell Douglas the rear life manufacture. Roban is the RC brand.
How is the Synergy E5 Helicopter kit with respect to quality, built and reliability? I am about to pull the trigger on this one from MotionRC but not sure what mechanics to put in it.

Gonads1259 It’s not Roban it’s the mechanics I choose to use. If it was an Align it would have a thin metal tail pushrod that would go inside. My mechanics are a Synergy E5 that uses a solid carbon rod. I could have went flex rod or metal but didn’t want to sacrifice tail authority.
Hi Chris, your Scale Flying is good. There is a big problem with this Roban Scale of MD500E. This is NOT an EXACT Replica of MD500E. The rotor head is wrong, should be a 5 bladed rotor head. Also, the Tail rotor is on the wrong side, should be on LEFT side (Port Side), as in full scale MD500E. MD 500D/E, MD520N & MD 902 Explorer are my favorite. I am planning to buy my first Airwolf 800 size, but ROBAn has to make the EXACT Replica and EXACT Paint Work detail as in Airwolf movie. I will contact one of the Distributors to show them images of what my Airwolf has to be before I buy period.
Wayne Getkate It’s supposed to be fun Scale. Watch my build video. It came as a naked fuselage. The builder is in charge of putting in their own mechanics, scale rotorhead and parts etc... I fly for Synergy Helicopters so I installed my E5 to have have. Watch my other videos and search Bell 429 or AS 350 Super Scale. They were more scale like in features such as multiblade rotorheads and tails, sliding doors, seats, cockpit with dashboards etc...
@@crmodels Yeah thanks. Scale is all about building like the EXACT Full Scale helis. Am not complaining about your build. I just love scale helis to look the exact scale full size ones. Rotor Blades & Tail Blades should be the exact replica of the full scales. Can you send me links to your other videos, would love to check it out. 700 & 800 sizes are my favorite. 600 is a bit too small, just my opinion. Bigger is better for smoother stable flying. I am deciding between the Roban or Century Fuselages of 800 size. Maybe I could take the 700 size. I been told Roban does not make 700 size Airwolf Fuselages, only 600 & 800 sizes.. I am planning on buying the Align TREX 800 Pro DFC Super Combo, which comes complete with exception of Reciever & two 6s batteries. Saving up as they are damn expensive. I think is cheaper to buy the Align TREX 800 Pro DFC Super Combo and buy te Airwolf 800 size fueslage. Maybe you can give me some advice on this for cheapest solution. You are an expert in this Fuselage build.
Wayne Getkate Just search “Chris Reibert Bell 429” or click on my channel and view all my videos. Or go to my webpage and see all my builds 3dandscalerchelicopters.com
There is Fun scale and True scale. I prefer the fun scale you can actually fly. A lot of the guys who spend months and years building true scale don’t even fly them, just display then as hanger queens. I’m all about the stick time baby!!!

How fun! When you took the front off, I thought we would see TC in the seat.
Welcome to UAV ... lol no it’s Chris! What a nice Heli! & the field! It’s so nice ... lower lower!
Nice bird! The Roban offerings are really nice for the money.
Beautiful! Great Scale sound to it also. Thanks for the look inside the Fuse etc. 👍
Ha ha, how beautiful. It's like it has a soul!
Beautiful model. Smooth flight. Great job!
That's awesome Chris!
Beautiful bird, love it and how you fly it!
How did you black out windows,
Wondering if you ever figured this out.
cool , i have Roban Hughes 500MDE with T-REX 700X
Looks sweet!
Nice.... I prefer scale helis... smooth flight
I am new to the hobby. Just curious, is there a 600 size heli in that fuselage? Or a 500? What does the 500MD mean vs Roban 600 (size) you mention?

I would go with a Phoimextexh 600 kit that MotionRC offers it’s an Align 600 clone. The E5 is not a heli in production anymore.
Put an FPV camera in it!
nice ...do you think trex 550 will works ?
Yes absolutely
@@crmodels the reason is cus I have a trex 700 but not fuselage available . thank you
hey chris did you have to get a longer main shaft to make this work? i have a 550 DFC trying to fit in the 600 size also.
Mckaylund Tuttle I did not. The E5 fit in there perfect.
I know this video is older but I was wondering if your E5 was a 550 size or was it stretched to 600?
550. I cut a few inches off the fuselage. I have a whole build video on my channel showing the build.
600 stretch was too long for it.
Thank you for the quick reply. I just watched your build video. I have an XL power 550 and im thinking about picking this fuselage up for it.
Hey mate can you put a nitro in that?
David Knight Oh ya I’ve seen lots of guys put old Trex and Raptor nitros in 600 size MD500 fuselages.
What size
600 size
And next step a 5 bladed rotor head.
Roger Göstasson Not with this one keeping the E5 stock

Shame Roban couldnt design this 600 size to have the rudder control rod INSIDE the fuselage like everyone else does.

Forget it ...... If you present a model in these conditions it means that you don't understand anything about scale reproduction.
