Actually, the only thing that's really wrong with Max, is that he can't keep his trouser zip done up. He's a bit misguided, but I don't get the feeling that Max is of a viokent nature, or even has genuine criminal tendencies.
Ofcourse he has his failings, but at heart I don't think that he's really a bad guy.
