I have only been collecting for a couple of years but I have no problem on passing the ones I ain't feeling because I don't want to end up with a bunch I will never wear or just don't want.
The worse feeling when you’re just looking at boxes piled up with sneakers you could’ve left at the store.
Sometimes I'll buy the retro because the other shoe is nearing the 10 year life span. After that, you're on blowout alert, even if they're still in great condition

thats the exact reason ion go for shoes that i really want like the columbia 4s because i waited too long back in 2019-2020 they wouldnt be that old but now its 2024 time just passes by so quick
I think it depends on the storage conditions. My olive 9s from 2012 still holding up, worn once and they for sale on ebay by the way sz11😉. But sometimes that sole separates without any warning, experienced it with my og black 7s from 2002. It happened around the 10 yr mark if I remember correctly
@@ShisuiDUchihayeah DS pairs you gotta be careful but in my experience buying vnds pairs they last longer than 10 because they are already broken in. I still got kicks from 06 release that are holding up but I know death is directly around the corner for them lol

i would say keep em mike. you worked hard for em and a lot of young heads can get schooled on how shoes change thru the years. you have alot of educational views to give so to each its own but as a subscriber of yours it keeps the content fresh and exciting.
I love detail so I’ll always go for the better version. And thank God there is a market for this stuff, because if I don’t develop an affinity for a particular shoe I can just get rid of it. 2 things, why and who are you engaging in the obsession for, and don’t overthink it. What people see should NEVER factor into your purchases. That’s about the best way to keep it organic and have minimal regrets. And shoes aren’t the only things we purchase impulsively. Keep it fun and realize these things don’t last forever. Having a newer version in the tuck is a great thing.

I think you do need the new reimagined 3. That pre-2020 jordan 3 shape was disgusting and terrible imo. I think getting an updated shape variation of the shoe is worth it. But Nike does push it, such as the Jordan 1 low Neutral Grey. But for the Jordan 3 and Jordan 1 shape I think a double up is worth it for *og colorways* such as the reimagined 3 and lost and found 1

I double up when I can....so far, Concordes/Gratitudes, Patent/Satin BRED 1s, Jordan 3 Reimagined/FTL, and soon the BRED 4 Reimagined/OG. Depending on the shoe, you wanna keep a fresh pair ready to go when the first one gets old.
The 2011 Bordeaux 7's are way better than the 2015 pair in my opinion because of the Grey midsole.. I still cop colorways that I already have so I can keep a fresh pair

I’d say most of the original pairs you have showed were more hyped and harder to get, if you can cop the newer version for retail then go for it. Keep those og ones for special occasions for as long as they will last and use the newer versions a bit more daily. Especially because it will be way more affordable to replace for example the 2023 lost and founds then it would the chicago 2016 og, thats my logical opinion.
My plan is if I cop a shoe I already have or very similar, I sell the old pair to make up or to cover the cost of the new shoe, and a lot of times then some, to pay for the "new (OG)" version. As the goal is to have the “OG” versions.
If you can get the new version for retail I say go for it and let go of the older version ( only if the new version is better/ super similar), if not keep the older and on to the next release

When the shoes look basically similar, there's probably no need to cop unless your current pair is wearing out or your a super collector and want every possible shoe colorway. But most people can't tell the difference in color unless they look closely. Better off saving that bread for something new and different IMO

In my opinion the 85 lows are definitely worth. They look much better on feet and also fit different.
I don’t agree with doubling up on a shoe that similar but ima need 3 pairs of them reimagined breds. That leather gonna be better over time and wears unlike the 2018 breds. Hopefully they have that same leather as the Oreo 4s

Totally feel ya #mikerich NO, NO, NO you don't need both, It really doesn't make since. We have to remember that having many shoes to choose from has us wearing others that much less. So, IMO having 2 alike makes it longer to circle around to certain pairs. I've been pulling for you since you mentioned being "more selective" awhile ago. I think you still have a ways to go. lol
I started my downsizing 2 years ago from like 150. Now I'm down to 85 pairs. I have been VERY SELECTIVE. I turned 47 this month so I been feeling overwhelmed with releases and my stock levels. Feels much better to rid of kicks and get some moolah back. Now I'm mainly OGs and those few off the cuff colorways that drop. Get em down to 100, you not even wearing expect on weekends mainly. #blessings

I started getting into sneakers after high school when I got my first job in 2015. Crazy how that shoes are getting rereleased and how many shoes are just too similar
I would like to have kept all my shoes over the last decade or two, but I’m down to less than 75 total….still trying to downsize from that. But I’m a sneaker head that wants more than a few 😂…..very difficult to keep collecting and downsizing
I sold about 50 pairs back when i was around 100. I regret every pair being sold nowadays. So much you can do with the old sole-less or just simply old pairs.

The major exception to the rule i got the 2011 2015 and spizike Bordeauxz and the 11z i dig way more starting to bubble up on the upper but the lighter midsole and materials way doper but i like the more og outsole with the lime green even tho neither had the og lime green in the 7 logo on the heal i want a new pair.... and i stupidly went to the nike es in beavertron and coppd the superbron remix instead of the damn Bordeaux lowz i been mad af ever since i cant enuff bcuz i wore em so damn much since i got so many matching teez hatz jerseyz ect missed out on em as a kid bcuz i was poor and roccn prowingz and they my fav colorway that made me fall in luv with jz

Another observation, the anticipatedJordan 1 Ochre is similar to ROTY, and I like the latter much better.
The soles on my 2012 bred 4s started cracking 😩. Definitely after the reimagined pair but I don’t see them sitting and will be hard to cop.

you right. if you paid attention to what jordan was doing. the flooding the market with shoes and most of them are close in the color way. like they dropped the navy 5 then a month later dropped the midnight navy 3. i think they doing that on purpose of the resellers. they buy a bunch of shoes for resale b4 they can get them off there is something else coming out. i understand there r levels to it and i am new to the sneaker game

At this point for me its about quality over quantity. I been dumping older og’s cause I know its time to re-release them soon and when they do, they are paper weights. I sold my ‘88 3’s a few months before the reimagined came out…thank god…cause no one is going to buy older shoes for more when they can get newer versions for cheaper. Sell all that stuff. I have 2015 chicagos and the lost n founds…i want to sell the 2015s, but no one will pay what they are worth when they can buy lost n founds for half. I sold my BC 3s after the reimagined came with the retro shape. Once the new ones are announced with that new shape, those 2018s are lawn mowers….im rocking my cement low 1s until then!

I say this as someone with Bred 4's still in great condition. And it's okay. We all change our minds from time to time. Who knows...maybe I won't even hit, but I'ma TRY!! DO it....

Once you reach a certain amount of pairs (I’d say 75-100+) then you gotta be very calculated on what you buy because it can turn into a wasted purchase. Unless you’re a diehard collector these shoes can be a hassle. I passed on the gratitudes for the exact same reason. I have the concords and they still icy and worn maybe 4x so I know the gratitudes will just collect dust.

2015 bordouex materials was trash I would cop another pair if they make a better version. Those Laney 14 lows was stiff plastic like materials also.

Paid 250 for the gratitude for my son'.. didn't mention it to him but the Og spacejam is the Goat.. tied with my Og bred 11s.. last bread low i got was in 2016 and that still wasn't like my Og's
The only reason I'll be going after the reimagined 4s is the same reason why I copped the gratitudes and that's because of the leather upper. I stopped wearing my Concords and bred 4s so much because I was trying to maintain that upper. With the leather you don't have to worry as much....that's just my humble opinion.
