Those first few trips were unbelievable. I think what people won’t realise is that those 2009 trips were before we started the TA Fishing UA-cam channel. All those massive fish and red letter days and we didn’t even film them! Good times and great memories 🎣
I have to say mr G. I am 70 years old and have fished since age 14 but, you lighten my life with your videos. I wish you and your family well, and I hope you keep entertaining us. Thank you, I always look forward to Friday evenings. I cannot fish like you anymore due to health problems, but it’s great to see a channel that takes me back to how we used to do things. God bless you
High sea drifter was the reason I bought a boat. Pilot 520. (copy of the Wilson Flyer.) Rewired it fixed the engine decked it out with all the safety equipment. Spent many weekends going out just to test the boat and learn how to use it. Last test the tide was a bit faster than usual. So a professional said he would help. 4 attempts to get it on the trailer. Next visit boat didnt plane right used lots of fuel and didnt tow the same. Found 6 fractures in the hull that lined up with the rollers on the trailer. I now have a very large garden feature. Not giving up just saving up. May be out next year. Learnt a lot watching your videos. Thank you so much.
Welcome to the boat owners club...something I have just cancelled my membership on ,but a great experience and plenty of good memories. (Its just the bad memories that keep me awake at night !)
I remember it well,a big Lemon shark well over the World record for a junior, about 140lbs if I recall. We had another boat come alongside and help hold the shark while we got pictures.
It's a sad day to see you part with your faithful boat, she served you well. Let's hope she serves her next owners as well. Keep memories, take only pictures.... tight lines G
What amazing memories were made on the HSD.really glad to have shared some of those with you gp.thank you so much for all of the time and effort you have put in.thank you HSD,you will be missed.
Definitely feels like the end of an era with you selling the boat, I live not far from you in fleet and saw it for sale before it was mentioned on here... Couldn't quite believe it. I discovered your channel just before lock down, watching all your man alone in a boat videos, it really inspired me and currently I'm saving to get a boat and one the silly prices come down for them a bit. Having bought our new house solely on the fact there's enough driveway space for a boat haha. Hope to bump into you one day on a fishing trip as I fish the same local lake as you occasionally. Keep up the amazing work we all love the films you put out
@@TAFishing also not sure if you'd want them but I've got just over half of a 25kg box of 3inch wire nails that I'm sick of tripping over in the garage,, if you or Mike would make use of them atall for any projects you've got going
What a boat world famous!! And what a captain to go with it! You on that boat catching sharks just briliant thanks for the totally awesome fishing adventures 🎣🎣🎣
Nice to look back and remember the nostalgia, these things we never forget , they all called memories and we must cherrish them . The good old days when we wore jeans instead of cords 😂 , excellent video Greame , although I hadn't seen any of that footage it made me realise just how long i have been watching you .
Scan a pdf of that logbook or make a transcription with the locations and someday when you feel like it upload it and put it somewhere only the most keen eyed TA fishing fans could find it be good fun to see who goes and give reports back. High sea drifter gone but not forgotten she was used for what she was built for not all boats can say that👌🐟
A superfan all the way from Corpus Christi Texas USA. I love your work I hope you keep it up as long as possible. Your Man Alone series are the best I hope you make a few more of those, they are so amazing and TOTALLY AWESOME!!!!
I just happened to find pics like the original build of her,and then some early catch pictures ,and then my head was whirling searching for more unused material.
actually cannot believe it bloke up from mine brought your boat literally only see it today and thought bloody hell thats the famous hi sea drifter i’m in norfolk by the way 😂
So hard giving up your boat I was a fisherman in the uk selsey bill for 25 years and moved to nz and became a charter boat skipper, sold that went to a tinny then an inflatable boat to no boat , very hard as u get younger , I have loved your videos brought back heaps of memories, stay you well all the best paul 😊🤗🐶🚌
Yes,once you have owned your own boat and been out to sea and back safely there is always going to be a draw to go back out. Its nothing like just going aboard a charter boat.Step on/step off. Solo boating on the ocean has you as close to edge as you want...But always good to know where exactly the edge is.
Hi Graeme, Playing catch up again. Loved your Boat Series and still watch it regularly. Trying to keep things short as i know your busy. Would it be possible for you to show us some of those Books behind you in that Fab Office. There's huge knowledge there for sure and we might be able to buy these second hand. Thanks again Graeme for sharing such an Awesome passion with us. Steve in Fife.
Nice one Graeme. I know the toils of owning a small towable fishing boat and you do have to be very keen. I used to take mine down to a small fishing Cornish cove and was permitted to keep it in the harbour, not quite as rugged as Boscastle though. Nice to have a keen lad in Mike to assist you also. Well done both.
Graeme, really loved this video! I enjoy all the videos with this little Gem in it. It might be a small boat, but man can it fly in the water! I know that you have many wonderful memories of times spent in that boat! Keep up the excellent work my friend! Oh, how about a video on how to catch Halibut and how to properly clean and cook the same?

Great review of the HSD years Graeme. Been a subscriber to your sea fishing escapades for about 5 years, but a lot there that I hadn't seen before. No time or interest in freshwater stuff. I know HSD has gone to a good home, but it's RIP HSD for me. Stay safe & well, both you & Mike. 🎣🎣👍👍
It would be nice to see you 'reunited' aboard the HSD as a guest of the new owners sometime in the future. Who knows, HSD may feature in a new channel.
Loved the videos and great memories over the vast amount of years. Has taught me a lot about fishing and simple tips and tricks even though i live in Australia. Cheers for all the good boat vids and land/bank fishing vids. Quick question - Will you be looking at another boat? Or is this the final straw on the boating side for yourself? Cheers
I just did a full overnighter piling Carp to over 20lbs,then made the mistake of going to another lake to continue fishing the next day...found it very draining ,so I guess the solo launch, fish, film, retrieve and tow back days are over...Its all catching up with me..Good job I did it while I can. No problem fishing on small boats at all,its all the in between stuff I don't need.
It was great to see the shark again thanks for that Greame. Just an observation store those rifles the other way around stock down. The barrel pins can't take it and only need to be out a shade to ruin accuracy.
@TAFishing all for safety, I was always told keep the business end pointing down until you shoulder the gun to take your shot. But storage it was always stock down with a trigger lock installed.
Hi there iv just started watching your show an you seem to mention Frank . lol I spent 15 years working with him on the oyster"s an mackral an the shark out of mylor nr Falmouth
It's not so much the boat that's important as the motor that's on it. The motor is everything!!! When I had boats on Vancouver Island I always had a main motor and kicker as well.

Oh Graeme.. get a new one...
How much is a drifter
No idea,I'm not sure they are made any more but they used to be a good entry price for small boat fishing.
You need another boat.
Come down to Fowey for a fish can show you some spots
PM Mike, someone else just pinged me for Falmouth sharking (private boat)so might be able to tie up before winter comes.
Or Mike says just email him on the "About" section of his UA-cam channel..TA Outdoors.
why did you retire your boat , it had plenty of fishing trips left in it .
the boat did,it was me wearing out !!....
Why did you sell your boat
Never used it after Covid ,so it was a shame to see it just sitting there.
Your header seems to be massively overstating things. You seem to overestimate your reach.
Have you counted the number of films I feature it in over the years ?
