The San Diego Jam knot is an easy alternative to the Palomar knot that makes it easier to tie cranks and baits with a lot of treble hooks. I learned it from a professional walleye fisherman when I was a kid and have been using it ever since.
I never knew it was the San Diego Jam knot until I got older and looked at different knots. The important thing is that this knot works.
I've been using this knot for over 30 years now and it has been solid.
