It sounds like Poppy could be experiencing night terrors. It’s a normal part of children’s development at her age and usually occurs during the evening (starts) as opposed to during the night, but can go on for hours. It’s so distressing for us Mums as well as the child.

I had that!!! It’s normal development? Would love to hear more or any resources you may have, if you’re willing to share. 🌙
My mom and/or Dad rushed in and comforted me until I was asleep. We had all these rituals and they would assure me over and over and eventually my trust in them overpowered my fear of active symptoms or post-symptoms and I could get to sleep. There are solutions!💙
…Except unfortunately, my sleep disordered stuff lasted through my life until I found a way to treat it. My life was disrupted but not overpowered so hope and compassion your way. 🥰

@@sar-uh hi, yes no problem. I have five children and when they were little most of them had night terrors. With my eldest obviously I’d never come across it before and she was inconsolable for hours each night but couldn’t tell me what was wrong because she was too young. I asked my health visitor and she told me all about them.
It’s a normal part of brain development with young children. Not all children have them but it’s really common around that age. It went on for weeks, so distressing to not be able to know what’s causing them. My health visitor said it can be something really innocent which the child has seen during the day which then goes on to give them night terrors. I eventually, after weeks, managed to understand it was her bath water going down the plug hole which was frightening her. I started taking her out of the bathroom before letting the water out of the bath and the terrors stopped!
Sometimes we can eventually work out what’s causing them but not always. Hope this helps 👍

Read about Classical Education and how it relates to developmental stages. At toddler/early elementary age kids just LOVE repetition because it's how their little minds work. They love reading the same book, watching the same show, or singing the same song over and over. It can actually be of benefit for them learning and memorizing.

Laura it sounds like to me that poppy either has nightmares or night terrors possibly. My son has them really bad where he wakes up out of a dead sleep crying and freaking out. It's very scary to see your kid like this the first time I experienced it with my son it scared me to death it doesn't happen all the time but when it is does it's awful. I could be wrong but that's what it sounds like to me. I hope this is helpful.

Poppy reminds me so much of a little girl I babysit who will be 3 in September. Right now she is obsessed with coco melon! She just likes songs I think it’s perfectly normal and I definitely wouldn’t take it away from her. People talk about how bad screen time is but in my opinion it’s not an issue for a few hours a day. it’s listening to music, and learning. My little brother pretty much learned how to read by himself from playing on his tablet and watching UA-cam etc

I wonder if you all have tried Master Tonic? It's a old recipe (over 200 years old) of 5 ingredients in vinegar & works like a charm
    Apple Cider Vinegar
    Garlic
    Onions
    Red Chilies
    Ginger Root
    Horseradish Root
*all organic - all equal amounts chopped small (I use a food processor) - fill Mason Jars (or any good glass jars) 3/4 full not counting 1 inch from top. Add the Apple Cider Vinegar to 1 inch from top - use a non-metal lid or sealed lid - shake well & put in the cupboard for 2 weeks, shaking once a day.
After 2 weeks, strain the juice out into another glass jar & keep both the pulp and the juice. Each person takes 1 teaspoon to 1 tablespoon of the juice a day to not catch the sickies. You can have it with juice or chase it with juice. The pulp is good added into meals/soups/sauces, etc - by spoonful when desired. They can be kept in fridge or on counter, or cupboard.
**if someone gets sick, up the amount by double - sickies are gone very soon. : ) ***there's loads of videos online for it - basic recipe above is original

So she would no they were gone! One night at 1 am I almost gave in and ran and bought one and I didn’t and after that night she never asked for them again!! I felt so blessed! Let her have her obsession with baby shark she will move on! Elmo was on jam and he went on for years and finally one day she just wasn’t interested anymore. Vogue recently published a hit piece called "Goodbye Oat Milk," and people have slammed the drink as “starch juice." Its ingredients have once again been brought into question, including Oatly's addition of rapeseed oil. Critics warn that it will raise your blood sugar.
While oat milk has a small amount of healthy beta-glucans, she said there are some health concerns to think about. This includes the ways it's processed, its sugar content, and additives like dicalcium phosphate and plant oils. Some oat milk, like Oatly, has rapeseed oil, a type of vegetable oil.

So my daughter is three and she likes tv like any other kid but ever since she was able to acknowledge the tv i always had a rule that we don’t watch tv the mornings to help with screen time. So we would start watching tv at the time after her nap which was around 3, I’d let her wake up first with some play and then I’d turn on the tv. She hasn’t napped since she was about 2 and a half so obviously we don’t have the nap time in between screen time but i still stick by that rule for most days. Some days I’ll be tired and we will watch tv in the morning but then if we watch it in the morning we’re not watching it in the afternoon. That’s just what has worked for us because I’m able to tell her “rule is we don’t watch tv in the morning so we can let our brains wake up”

Alfie gets 1 on 1 with you every evening. Poppy needs that with you too, perhaps she needs more from you than Alfie does.
Sure pediatricians are great but a child psychologist is even better. Good luck with everything. They are sweet kiddos and your content helps people.

Both my kids had that behavior around 3. I thinks it's just a developmental stage.

Healthy isnt such a big issue. As long as they have the nutrition they need treats are ok for kids and adults. Balance is the important thing.
If they want to meat when theyre older what will you do?
Im not a meat eater so just curious.

Laura, I love you but please don't call yourself a stay at home mom. You have a nanny and it comes across as entitled and not relatable.

With baby shark obsession, allow her to watch it as a reward for doing something like picking up her room. Also only 2 or 3 times a day maybe 1 episode or how ever that silly show works. Just for your own piece of mind. Good Luck.

Laura, you are so lovable,so unpretentious and funny...would love to see you ramble all day :) Poppy probably is going through a growth spur.Normally sleep gets worse then, but of course it always good to consult the doctor.About the cartoon addiction...yes,it is very powerful,it is the same dopamine addiction and instant gratification we get from social media,it is life robbbing. What I do with my kid,I let him whine and tantrum for a while and normally he grows tired of it and finds something else and more creative to do.Gotta stick through that,I know its hard though and really gets on you nerve.Once kids get used to the fact that they can't get certain things by tantruming, they will stop. But i totally get the sick days...and times when mommy just needs some time by herself or with a friend, that has come over.I was pleasantly surprised, when I put cartoons for my kid, when i wanted to chat with a girlfried by a cup of tea and after some time my kid stopped watching and started to play on his own. You are gorgeous, amazing mom.Looking forward to the next video.
