If the dragon takes a certain amount a damage it will fly away unless you one shot
Exactly I get so tired of them not realize that the dragon leaves after a third of its health depletes from perch
@@fjb4534 I believe damage caused by player only , which is why beds work
@@olixx1213 No its the same with beds. The one cycle causes the dragon to never fully land on the perch so you can do more than 1/3 damage. Once the dragon lands if a third or more of the dragons damage is dealt the dragon will begin flying again. That's why if the dragon fully lands the player can only do a couple beds at a time before the dragon flies away. There is also the added factor of duration in time that the dragon will perch. The perch doesn't last foe the dragons entire health unless you one hit it.
@@fjb4534 Looking at the code for 1.16, the magic number appears to be 25% of the Dragon's max health
I thought this was just on bedrock because of the bed cycle thing but it's interesting it's on both versions (bedrock wither is still harder)

There was no real killing him, cause food was not an issue. He had the means to make more bread if necessary. They couldn't bed bomb him which was their only trump card. The ONLY way Gold would have lost, would be if the dragon yeeted him into the void

I think the reason the dragon kept leaving the perch is because it will try to make sure it takes only a certain amount of damage, per perch before leaving. The only other way it leaves(that I can personally tell) is after a certain randomly generated time restriction at the perch.
Do when you break blocks it increases strength or enchantments

the ender dragon leaves its perch every time it either waits for long enough, or looses enough health to make up a third

Tip for the nether: if u have both a foretress and a bastion, go to the bastion first. Even if they break the blaze spawners, you can still get rods from random spawns. However, if they take the gold from the bastion, ur out of luck
Also, the dragon will alway fly away after taking a certain amount of damage
@@Pikachu0542 I dont think there are random spawns for blazes, they just often fly away from their spawners

If wallets perching a lot of damages dealt to it fast it will leave no matter if there is any end crystals up it was just leave as soon as a lot of damage is dealt to it while perching

The real easiest way to get a full inventory would just be chopped on a bunch of Logs and turn those into buttons And bam you have a full inventory

Gold being an idiot and not taking out the crystals thinking he could be a smart ass and kill the dragon without it. The dragon has a hit threshold where it leaves the perch regardless of time there. Unless you can one hit it, which is like 200-300 hit points at once, it will immediately fly away upon taking that damage even if it just perched. He also literally mentions the mechanic and thinks it's not the answer
