    My first time playing a SC2 tournament was Dreamhack Summer 2012. I started talking with DIMAGA in the first group stage and exchanged a few conversations with him during the event. One of the most humble guys i have ever met. I asked him how he felt going in to the tournament and he was feeling so so, but he ended up in the Finals against MaNa. You bet your ass i was there cheering for him all the way. Truly a Hall of fame player if there ever was. Glad you made a video about him!

      That's very cool! He's truly one of the best personalities SC2 scene ever had. When I first got into Grandmaster league in late 2016-2017, I would often meet him on Ladder and we had countless ZvZs, as well as some encounters on online cups later on. He would always be very respectful & give advice if needed, and he's maintained that positive attitude towards anybody. Always willing to help or just share a laugh, he's one of my biggest inspirations in the community

    I remember Dimaga really reinventing himself, he was always present on the scene and good but nothing super special. But there was one moment later in his career where he was really scary with ling/bane/ultra.

    • @EsportsStoryteller
      @EsportsStoryteller  Місяць тому

      He was really really strong in 2011 and early 2012, but then yes, after 2013 peak at WCS it was basically a downhill road for his career. This happened to many oldschool pros from WoL though, the competition was just getting insane

    Always loved Dimaga, but mainly WhiteRa since I was Protoss at first, still Ukraine gave us really good players, it is sad to think about the war, and I hope he is fine. I also cherished not only players who were extremely good but also examples to follow in game and in real life such as Dimaga and WhiteRa. Really nice vid

    i think its pretty depressing how in a world so interconnected like is ours with the internet and the such, the first reaction people had when a war started wasnt "oh damn a war, i really hope both sides citizens are ok" and instead instantly jumped into taking sides, which got harsher when a whole ass country screams at your face when you didnt side with them or the war in general

    • @madtechnocrat9234
      @madtechnocrat9234 Місяць тому

      Third reich invaded Poland, oh no i hope both sides are ok, has a nice ring to it.

    • @peffiSC2source
      @peffiSC2source 19 днів тому

      There is one clear side that is doing evil and one that has to defend itself out of necessity.
      Of course it's normal to hope that people from either side will be okay initially, but at some point you do have to take a side, if the aggressor is unwilling to cease the killing.
      If Russians dropped their weapons and left Ukraine, the war would be over and the killing would stop then and there. If Ukrainians dropped their weapons, there would be no more Ukraine and the killing of civilians would pick up, as Russia would purge any dissidents, political opponents and resistance fighters. Platitudes lile "I hope civilians on both sides will be okay" don't cut it, when we see Russia bombing literal cancer hospitals for children.

    I remember rooting a lot for Dimaga back in the day, even though he was a bit on and off with his performance. But when he brought his A-game it was incredible. Reminded me a lot of an Ukrainian co-worker I had too, which was kind of funny.
    P.S. Kind of cool that you pronounced Jönköping almost perfectly. :)

    Димага красава, очень нравились стримы году в 14-15, когда ещё смотрел старкрафт. Киберспорт вне политики, жаль, что политика лезет в наш киберспорт...

      Well, that's not just politics. It's plain life threatening war. This is where (e)sports' indifference to politics has to stop as it is destoying lives and peaceful competition.
