- For more than twenty years, Kate Winslet has proven herself one of the most expressive actors in movies, from her astonishing breakouts in Heavenly Creatures (1994), Sense and Sensibility (1995), and Titanic (1997), to the increasingly internalized characterizations of Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004), Revolutionary Road (2008), The Reader (2008), for which she won an Oscar, and Steve Jobs (2015), a NYFF centerpiece. This year, Winslet stars in the NYFF festival closer, Wonder Wheel, directed by Woody Allen, and her blistering, unpredictable, vanity-free performance is destined to be remembered as one of her greatest. In a special live onstage event, Winslet talked about this latest role and her career in general.
The 18-day New York Film Festival highlights the best in world cinema, featuring top films from celebrated filmmakers as well as fresh new talent. The five-person selection committee is chaired by New York Film Festival Director Kent Jones and includes esteemed critics, curators, and programmers.
Since 1963, the New York Film Festival has brought new and important cinematic works from around the world to Lincoln Center. In addition to the Main Slate official selections, the festival includes newly restored classics, special events, filmmaker talks, panel discussions, an Avant-Garde showcase, and much more.

Kate Winslet is amazing very, very talented I admire her so, much. I recently, saw The Life of David Gale. Kate Winslet's emotional performance, she really cried in this Movie I felt her pain. I was devastated in every scene to see her cry. This Thriller Movie with a twist an ending that you don't see coming. She's a Phenomenal Actress one of the best my favorite. From Titanic, Revolutionary Road, The Reader, Sense & Sensibility, Jude, much more. She's versatile & can play any Role. Mildred Pierce was one of her best Movies.
