      Its been on mine for the last 35 years. Take my kids up every year for the last 22 years, vacation reserved for this October! Plan on retiring here or at least owning a rental home here hopefully soon.

      Available to 4runner owners? If not, do you know of equivalent training opportunities

    Chris is by far, the very best of the best. Thank you AEV for taking off road training seriously.
    It’s so very important that folks understand how to be safe when driving 4WD vehicles in the backcountry.

    As a former student myself, this class was an all-time highlight. Both in the techniques learned and then put into practice, and the amazing people I met and connected with from all over the country. Thanks, AEV!

    I had the pleasure of participating in this course about eight years ago (and subsequently another AEV event in Moab). I have so many wonderful memories of that event and of the beautiful location. Chris Wood is a great instructor, and the lessons I learned during that event stuck with me to this day. Thanks AEV!

    So-now I gotta drive from Kentucky to Oregon (my 48th state) and learn some new things for the 4Runner to do! What a great looking video and an amazing program-what a great way to teach people how to have a great time in their vehicles!

    AEV made front and rear bumpers for jeep Wrangler Jk, JKU, JL, JLU and JT looks the best on jeep although there are a numbers of other aftermarket bumpers giants like ARB, EVO, poison spyder etc. The re-inforced spare tyre carrier is also much better than the likes of teraflex, metal cloak etc.. It stand the test of time and didn't failed cuz I've seen some tyre carrier began to have issued after a months of hard wheelings on 40s with the spare, rotopax, shovel, trashbag, propane, if mounted on the 40 inch spare tyre. The AEV made don't even know what's there even after years of hard off road wheeling.

    Anything like this in the Michigan area? I don't understand the opposition to using the backup camera. Mirror skills are essential but they have blind spots that your camera doesn't. I started backing out of my driveway one day to find that my neighbor's young daughter had been riding in my driveway. She had dropped her bike and ran when my door started opening. My truck didn't have a camera. Luckily I noticed a tire in my mirror because that truck didn't have a camera. I could have easily crushed her bike. I have backed into my garage for the last 15 years since this happened.

      @husker_nation 4 місяці тому +2

      You missed the entire point. Technology can fail, the camera can be at the wrong angle while backing up, and yes, they have blind spots as well. Your driver safety course or whoever taught you to drive should have taught you to always check your mirrors frequently. If you're old enough, people didn't even have cameras in vehicles not long ago and we did just fine.

    • @AmericanExpeditionVehicles
      @AmericanExpeditionVehicles  4 місяці тому +2

      No opposition to using the technology that is on these vehicles but it is nice to have the skills to operate without them.

      @@husker_nation I am old enough that I have driven with and without a backup camera. I shared a story about almost running over a child bike because I couldn't see it in my mirrors. If I missed the point why did I say that mirror skills are essential? A good driver uses all their tools and isn't scared of tech. I have never had a camera fail. I have had mirrors shatter.
