Of all the vloggers that I follow, Mergim you have this undeniable different kind of touch that I can't even explain but makes it more interesting and attractive somehow......Little things that touches the feelings like excitement and happiness.....the way you interact with the participants and the audience I suppose....
There is a narrative arch and intentionality in each cut. At the end of a Mergim vlog, you get a sense of closure with enough information for imagining the rest not shown.
I imagine our guy must have frequented the art museums in London; the composition in his Vlogs really shows that there is intention and thought into it. Also, he adds these subtle yet effective add-ons/B-roll that really makes the videos so packed with info that its a feast for the senses. maybe in his 100k day, i can pick his brain about the method to his vlogging madness.
I get what you're saying. I think it's passion and if anyone discovers what he should be doing his entire life, I think this is what it looks like. I'm not saying Mergim will just be vlogging in his lifetime but you know what I mean. Magic happens if your passion and your destiny work together. It clicks all the time. I was actually skeptical about the BGC series. I thought it could be all boring but the guy managed to pull out a surprise everytime. On days that not much is happening, he still makes it interesting and worth watching. Great job Mergim the BGC Chairman!
This grand opening is just a foretaste. Do come back for the main showcase on Feb 25 and 26 (flower floats and street dancing parade competition. I was in high school back then when this started, and its been 25 yrs ago).
Mergim's here in Beautiful Baguio! Welcome and I hope you enjoy the festival. Come back on 25/26th when there's the amazing Grand Float Parade. Love the location of your hotel. Booyah!
It's a parade of flowers actually over there in Baguio and its nice to see that their tribe (igorot) dancing in the parade. Pride of Baguio, pride of the Philippines. I love it.
Stop calling them tribes. They're not tribes. The word "Tribe" is a degragatory term used by colonizers to claim that we are uncivilized before they came which is untrue.
What I like about Mergim is his spontaneity, natural charisma on interacting with practically anyone and everyone he comes along with. He is so observant about things around him both nature, weather, people and developments. He's got the gift of gab so vlogging comes quite natural to him.
On the day that i supposed to have the chance to watch for the first time in my life the "panagbenga parade", i had a very very important appointment. Well i will watch it next year. Thanks for coming to Baguio City to vlog the Panagbenga.
Yes would like to see you visit Old Spanish Philippines in Vigan to see what Manila architecture used to be like before the Americans and Japanese bombed the city to smithereens in World War Two. The worlds second most destroyed city after Warsaw Poland, went from Pearl of the Orient to a mess. Thanks!
wow the SLU Marching Band, still at the front of the parade like eversince..that music is the Baguio Hymn composed by Maestro Macario Fronda, no lyrics though...i should know, i played under his baton and the school band in the '90s..enjoy Mergim!
The parade starts in front of our house at upper session road near SM and next year my daughter will participate in the street dancing for the highschool division. That crowd is nothing compared to the big event on the 25 and 26 as you can't barely see a gap in the crowd . Seen the making it happen vlog version yesterday.
How we missed the Panagbenga festival! It's wonderful to hear the Panagbenga theme song played again by the St. Louis University Marching Band after a, long, long while! You bet the crowd would swell much, much more on Feb. 25 and 26 when the street dancing parade and the flower float parade would happen, respectively. Many lowlanders would be flocking to the city then.
There are many town fiestas/festivities this coming summer. Some of those festivals are lansones festival and lechon festival. Filipinos celebrate Santacruzan during the whole month of May. It's a kind of parade where beautiful women, children and good looking men wearing beautiful traditional clothes in honor of our saints. Hope u could watch it also.
Haha, being objective and my own opinion anyway, your video is a lot entertaining showing much performances/variety and involving locals, as compared to making it happen video on this panagbenga opening event in Baguio. Peace ✌️, just my personal opinion hehe
Hope you could come again for the Grand Street Parade and the much-awaited Grand Float parade on Feb 25 and 26 respectively. It’s the highlight of the festival and we don’t wanna miss it after 2 years of absence due to corona 😊
This is when you realize that the festival in Cebu hits different! I still look forward to going to Baguio soon, now that there’s a direct flight from Cebu to Baguio! 😅
Hmmm… I don’t like the comparison but well whatever 🤷🏻♀️ you have your own opinion. This is what a more than a month long festival does to Baguio and to its people -- not participative 😆. Anyway, come watch the float on the 26th and minggle with the locals during Session in bloom from Feb 26-March 5. Those are mostly the only 2 events that most locals really go to. Not because may mga artista sa floats 🙄. But to be amazed by the array of flowers and arrangements
I envy the city of baguio, sobrang linis ng streets. its really a good thing na progressive na nga na mamaintain rin yung kalinisan ng siyudad. Discipline is crucial 🇵🇭
Hey Mergim, nice vlog. I hope you could insert some of the rich history of Baguio on your videos for us history buffs just like what you have done on your Manila series last year. I really miss that kind of feature on your vlogs. 🙂
Those people in tribal costumes dancing with gongs still continue to amaze. But let's face it the Panagbenga ain't complete without the floats bedecked with plants and flowers. You should try the strawberry taho.
Penagbenga is a month long celebration and that’s just the opening salvo.. the grand parade is on Feb 25th 😊 if that’s the action you’re looking for -the likes of Sinulog and Dinagyang
🏝️🎩🌺🇵🇭👍🙏 Sir Mergim, Thanks for Returning To Baguio, To Showcase It's Lovely PanangBenga Flower 🌺 Festival, And Wonderful People. Next year Bring Your Husky🐺 Dollar Stay Safe. 👍🙏 🌼💐🌻🏵️🌹💮🌸🌴⛱️🌅🇵🇭
Just heads up Mergim if you really intend to come back on both grand street dancing parade Feb 25 and grand flower floats on Feb 26, do these: 1) book your hotel now coz hotels will be packed by that time 2) local tourists from outside Baguio used to camp and reserve their spots as early as 5am along session road 3) coz of the pandemic, this coming event will surely be a crowded event. People eager to watch it again. 4) both the street dancing and flower floats parade are actually competitions, so of course expect to be amazed.
Mergim -- So far it's looking like the Panagbenga Festival does not offer a kind of "without prejudice" all out party before Ash Wednesday. But maybe I'm wrong. Hoping you and Justin are planning a scooter tour of the Cordilleras in the near future.
Come Back on February 25 for the Grandest Street Dancing Parade where there are many participants from different schools from elementary to college students and participants from outside Baguio for Open Category Performance, and February 26 for the Grandest Float Parade , this is just the opening to Mark the First Day of February's Panagbenga Festival. Be sure to book your accommodation in advance, which is just a walking distance..there are many activities in Panagbenga.
The Panagbenga Festival is a month long festival. The highlight or main events would be the Grand Street Dance Parade & the Grand Float Parade decorated with flowers that you're looking for will happen on Feb 25th & 26th respectively! This is just the Grand Opening Day Parade of Panagbenga 2023.
Very cool ending song..mad respect to Mergim for travelling around the PH for our OFWs who miss home..

Yeah, he is a good commentator and narrator. Definitely, he put some thought into what he says and not just blabbing his way through the vlog.

He is so genuine and authentic..mastered the art of editing..im hooked now and watching everyday again and again
Cute kiddos! Happy they seem to enjoy and proud to be a part of their culture. Good job kids!

Welcome to baguio city sir mergim❤❤🎉🎉
Love the background music from the band🥰 i think that's the theme song of Panagbenga Festival :)
Yes it is. It was composed by the late Dean Macario Fronda of St. Louis University.
The Grand Parade in 3 weeks time is the main event. It's like the Rose Parade of the USA. So many participants including PMAyers.
nearing 70k sir mergim road to a 100

Awesome video!!
You should go during the actual flower float parade. That’s the highlight of the festival
Great Video Brother
The actual flower floats is not there yet .. those floats are awesome
Try all festivals in Philippines.
ahhhh brings back memories to when I was part of the parade. SO NOSTALGIC!
There is a theme song, it just doesn't have lyrics. you actually caught it from the start to the end of this video :)
Panagbenga came about to lift the Filipino spirits after a terrible earthquake which hit Baguio and Luzon in 1991.
Hope you could come again for the Grand Street Parade and the much-awaited Grand Float parade on Feb 25 and 26 respectively. It’s the highlight of the festival and we don’t wanna miss it after 2 years of absence due to corona 😊
