@arsqqa666 Triggers are necessary to make fast double bass playing sound clearer and not like one low note. Swallow the Sun doesn't have fast double bass parts so they don't need triggers, but I'm sure Kai has used triggers when playing, for example, in Rotten Sound.
@arsqqa666 Kai does use triggers.... but it doesnt matter. In metal, the triggers are neccesary to cut through the giant wall of sound. and its not cheating, its A LOT harder to play clean with triggers than it is to play clean without them, because you can clearly hear every note.
Zach Wimpee not true. triggers have sensitivity levels you can mess with I don't really think triggers are bad though. they work and are an easy way to have a loud sound in mix but don't sound as unique as real mic'd drums.

I really appreciate that Kai Hahto use REAL acoustic drums and not those triggers which every asshole drummer uses nowadays...
