Hello Christine. I am a pneumonology resident and I have to tell you that carbonation in drinks does not affect your blood cells ability to transfer oxygen to your muscles. Your reference to Bohr's effect is correct on paper but sodas do not contain a lot of CO2 plus your lungs have an outstanding ability to sustain acid base balance. Any excessive CO2 intake would immediatly be taken care of by your breathing! Feel free to consume carbonated drinks while training. If you don't want to take my word for it a quick google search will help out!

I always check clearance racks. My find this week was milk. 2 litres is normally over $3.00 (in my part of rural Australia). There was a manager's special for $1.20 as it had a close use by date. At the register they scanned for 80 cents.

The guy at Kroger told me sometimes it's because they aren't selling fast enough so they bag overstock before they go bad.

Kroger is the store local to me.. definitely looking for more clearance items when I go there. I’m finding the reduce the prices on really good looking produce ! I haven’t bought meat in two weeks, so I can clean out my freezers. Just me and my husband at home now... I still buy like I’m feeding a crowd! Lol

I can sometimes find clearance deals and my one stop and shop for clearance bread type items and sometimes they have dairy or they have dented pantry items like canned veggies and dented boxes of non perishables.

I wish my local stores had such great clearance deals! I feel like the harder I look for those stupid yellow stickers the fewer I see, lol. I did catch a butter for $1.99 each deal this weekend which was AWESOME because we're a keto household so we blow through butter. It's good to know it freezes well for future reference. It doesn't usually last that long in our house, but still, I appreciate the tips because I'm new to this whole frugal living thing and I know I've passed up good deals in the past because I was worried about how long things would last in the fridge. Is Smith's the Utah equivalent of Kroger? The stickers and packaging look similar, but Smith's obviously has much better clearance deals. Thanks for the video!! So happy to be part of your YT family. I'm learning so much!

    • @FrugalFitMom

Wonderful deal especially with the meat and deli items.I always clearance shop, especially fruit and veges and meat.Although in Australia we don't seem to have as huge markdowns. We do have factory outlet food stores where things in tins, packages and frozen goods are significantly marked down, and of course there's always the farmers markets.I love watching your videos Christine, you are frugal, fun and fit, your'e looking rather lean at the moment is that because of marathon training? Thanks for great videos, take care,Foxy from Australia.

Thank you! I'm fairly lean at the moment, I will probably lose another couple pounds as the weather gets warmer and training amps up. I have lost about 8-ish pounds in the last 6 months or so. I do carry most of my weight in my thighs, which you don't see on camera all the time! :)

@@FrugalFitMom We are landing in LAX with my German husband and his dad and brother. We will spend 2 weeks travelling together from LA to Death Valley, China Lake, along the central coast, up to Monterey Bay, Oakland, Muir Woods then end in SF. On the 16th of March my FIL and BIL fly home and my husband and I go back to the central coast where I was born and raised for a week to see my family that is flying in for my grandmothers 95th B-day on March 20th. We fly back to Germany March 24th. I will be looking at all the grocery stores for salads, breads, snacks and drinks that are marked down for our road trip & also for anything that I can bring back home - I have an empty suit case I want to fill! :-)
