Exposures and dust spots will be your two biggest foes with this technique but it can be totally worth it if it's the right look.

This video was shot with my Fujifilm XT3, so if you have something like a Sony (who's known for their low-light performance) you might have more wiggle room on exposure!
Very informative. Great video. Great explaination of "feeling" when it comes to a mood in a film. I know exactly what you mean.
Thanks so much!
Nice
Love the look you're getting with this, super cool
Pinhole lens... never heard of that before looks interesting... a great video btw!
Seeing new stuff from you makes me so happy! ☺️☺️
Thanks Curt 😊
You said 1/8 shutter speed for that drag effect ..... it seems my 5diii only goes down to 1/30 in video mode. Is that effect possible with a canon 5diii?
Great question...I'm not that familiar with Canon these days. But I wonder if you could look into the Magic Lantern hack? Though, I know that can be a bit scary, so proceed with caution.
What I’ve done to achieve such shutter speeds is to use a continuous shooting mode and shot at ≈8-16fps with a shutter speed of 1/8, and stitched the photos together in software on my computer.
Wait, so I can just drill a hole to my Sony lens cap and it would create this filmic look? Wow
That may work, but I’m pretty sure this one I ordered was made with a laser, because it needs to be very, very small. But you could definitely try if you want! Worst case you’re out a cheap lens cap.
It's not a lens, it's a pinhole. A pinhole is not a kind of lens. Lenses refract light to create an image, pinholes don't.
Sure, that’s correct. A pinhole lens is just a common name online you’ll find for the type of product I’m describing.
