The summer weather in Germany seems to get more humid, which causes me some concern.
I once heard the saying, “Paper loves paper.” Hence I am storing my stamps in stock books with white pages and glassine strips (although the more expensive ones are also in Lighthouse or Hawid mounts). Someone else here wrote that airing your collection is important by turning the album pages regularly-I agree. Happy stamping, currently from wonderful Chicago.

Thanks for a video full of essential Philatelic information! I’ve also read that keeping albums and such in a vertical position is important, so the weight of whatever inevitably will get stacked on top of it does not press down on your stamps

Better yet', a collection of wine tax stamps. The wine tax stamps issued by the US Intern0 Revenue Service and various state tax departments while not particularly attractive can be purchased relatively cheap. The beer tax stamps of 1898 are much better looking imo.

It´s not a secret that stamp collecting is mainly a hobby of folks in the Northern hemisphere. 🌲So, if you got a good AC, that should be sufficient for storing stamps in your home. And it´s also important to turn the pages of your stamp albums from time to time. And, believe it or not: there are some folks out there collecting "Wine on stamps". 😉Greets from GER, U.

Not sure you are actually controlling the humidity if you don’t run the wine cooler. It will probably be about the same humidity as your house. But your house humidity is probably fine as long as you have air conditioning.

Sealed containers with desiccant packs also work. Sadly, I have come across many box lots with mildewed stamps from basement moist storage... there is nothing to be done and I consider those stamps like mushroom logs - they will infect other stamps stored in the same place.

put the albums in a box with a box of baking soda. also can use a uv light with the pages fanned out and standing if an album. these will kill the smell and any mold or fungus

I do see your having to determine the different ways, measuring and storing Stamps.Having only require two items to check every Stamp,in US collecting, and is one hundred percent accurate, one a perf measure I see you have, and Scott 581,no other Stamp, squares removed from all corner's, only check one side, not the top,if it's perf 11,overlap Stamp 581 if it's a perfect size, you have something different and rare.I gave up on Stamp Books long ago,my Grandfather nineteen century Book, wrecked many valuable Stamps.only use non acidic,Plastic I made myself.Verry easy to Show and risk free handling.

Did you see that STOP sign? Could that ruin a stamp budget? Good hints about the conservation of stamps.

Well, a wine cooler is not a bad idea, but all you really need to do in the summer, set your AC to a low to mid-70s setting during really humid days. In the Winter it is usually not a huge issue due to it being much dryer. Remember, too little humidity can be bad too.....causing paper fibers amd gum to crack and break. Differential shrink and expansion can also happen with large swings in humidity. I agree however, that REALLY valuable stuff is well kept in a humidity controlled environment.
