Hey mate, I've briefly seen an Audax in person but not looked at it too closely. I know a few people who have Bombtracks and they're all going for Hooks or Hook EXTs.

Never had anything other than the full build so no idea on frame weight

Ride a 2017 Bombtrack 1 and love it..beautifully built and plan to have many adventures on it. Great review by the way.
May I ask regarding Size of the beyond frame... I'm 5ft10 31inch inside leg... Should I be going medium or large

Not really. I've been working from home and riding a lot more regularly. Not massive kms, but 5-6 rides per week with plenty of efforts!
