I mean it’s kind of hard to unseat one of the greatest college players of all time. There was no reason to have him start over Tebow. Look at Tebows college numbers they’re actually insane. He threw for almost 10,000 yards. Ran for 3,000 and had almost 150 touchdowns. He won a heisman and two national championships. So it’s tough to even say he was better at that time. Cam was obviously better in the NFL but they were both very unconventional NFL QBs.
I also read somewhere the other day during cams tenure at auburn not a single offensive player at his championship team was drafted besides him, if that's true they both def legends

On each of their best seasons in college they were ab even tbh, when Tebow won the heisman he threw for 3286 yards, 32 td 6 pics, 895 rushing yards and 23 rushing touchdowns with a 172.0 rate. While came threw for 2854 yards, 30 touchdowns, 7 pics, 1473 rushing yards, 20 rushing touchdowns, and he even caught a receiving touchdown with a 182.0 rate. It was pretty damn close

Because check the stats buddy 😂 His best season he had 3,500 yds and 55 TDs passing and rushing. His worst starting season he had 3,400 yds and 32 Tds. He also broke MULTIPLE passing and rushing records including breaking Herschel Walkers 49 career rushing TDs by scoring 57 rushing TDs. You can win a Heisman through hype and popularity but it doesn't help you break records, win conference titles and national championships. His stats and accolades topple Cam's even if you just consider one starting season compared to his.
Go watch him against Alabama in his junior year. He had several throws that were in the perfect spot in between defenders.
