It was. It was composed by O'Carolan, blind harper of Ireland. Its about a war of the Faeries. But modern Celtic harps are much different from the one O'Carolan would have played on. He would have played on a brass strung harp and plucked the strings with his finger nails. Whereas we play on nylon strings or nylon wrapped in wire and/or sometimes gut, and of course pluck with our finger tips. :)

It's always seemed so ironic that such a tune could be written about a war... I think I've never heard a more placid, peaceful melody.

No, it was composed about 1691. This recording is probably copyrighted, and the arrangement may be also, but the tune itself is over 325 years old.
