Saw your live stream and have been patiently waiting for this. The images are stunningly beautiful and demonstrate your mastery of the available technology. Well done!
Yes, that was probably the best I"ve seen so far! I was able to see totality from Cleveland Ohio, my first total eclipse experience and one I'll never forget. I could see many of those red solar flares with my naked eye! Thank you for sharing that. I had it all planned out with a still camera taking photos, a 360-degree camera filming the whole scene and a FPV camera on my chest. The first two didn't pan out well for totality and the FPV one worked OK for the personal experience which I'm glad I have at least that for posterity. Photos and videos can't come close, however, to physically being there. It's an experience I'll never forget and that's priceless. Great video though, so great in helping relive that menmory!
I had 27% where I am, I watched maybe 7 streams from different locations, this one beats them all. I grew up watching NASA TV shuttle launches, best footage ever.
Thank you so much! I've been nearly in tears at times - so disappointed that i could find no good imagery that shows how incredible the eclipse was to the naked eye. This goes a LONG way in the right direction!! Thank you so much! (I saw the totality on bald knob cross in IL, and what was most breathtaking was how far the rays of light stretched from the shadowy core out to the night sky with its planets and faint stars.... The altitude gave an incredible view of the shadow approaching and the dark land out to the horizon... Life changing event!)
Epic. Started watching this on my phone, then went to my phone to watch in 4k. Absolutely stunning. I've really enjoyed your videos so far; hope to see many more. And that you get a lot more subscribers. Oh, and try and get the real audio for the next Starship launch.
It is but sometimes when the moon is further from the earth we just see an Annular eclipse AKA the ring of fire, since the moon doesn't cover the entire sun.
@@JonnyFlash80 what i mean was that the moon is literally enlarging it's orbit slowly, like the dinosaurs had a moon that was closer to earth than us today.
I'm so happy you shared your experience on here too! ❣It's so beautiful. I got nowhere close to that level that you captured. I've subscribed. Loved it!
I realise that there are copyright restrictions and I appreciate that you will appreciate why I had to pause this at the start, roll a doobie and then start it again on mute with Pink Floyds "Echoes (Part 1)" from their 1972 performance at Pompei as an alternative sound track, it defies the laws of Physics not to..... Thank you, this is fantastic footage!
I shot some photos through a long lens and was shocked to see the prominences with my own eyes, that was amazing, I didn't expect that. And the variety of colors, too. The sun is all orangeish, right? Nope, lots of reds and pinks and stuff, too. Worth the trip to see it in person.
Wonderful! I was lucky enough to watch it in southern Illinois and took photos very much like this. I was surprised to see some change in the flares during the few minutes of totality. So cool!
They are solar prominences, not flares. In solar physics, a prominence, sometimes referred to as a filament, is a large plasma and magnetic field structure extending outward from the Sun's surface, often in a loop shape. They sometimes persist for weeks. Flares last just minutes, and are MUCH more energetic, even producing x-ray.
What’s up with the giant missing piece at the very bottom of the moon? I guess the south edge maybe but the side that faces us the very southern point is missing a big piece
LOL I already had that mode selected on my 6K XDR and it nearly blew my face off. I'd love a behind-the-scenes video of this, and how you had to select F-stop one million!! I'm guessing 1:26 and 1:28 were just one stop too high? As an HDR production aficionado, I'd like to know your learnings and recommended choices for HLG vs PQ, editing platforms and Dolby Vision vs UA-cam etc. P.S. can we get some zoomed-in cropped replays of those solar flares?
Still learning for sure. The haze in the sky made this much brighter at the moments right before and after totality than expected, hence the brightness change at the last min. Thanks for tuning in!
Well, that was rather spectacular. I no longer envy those who can make to total eclipse areas to experience them. It was fun recognizing flares and prominences while knowing they weren't pointed at us. Heh....take that Venus. In your face, Uranus! Simply, this is a lovely sequence. Knowing that the fuzzy and willowy-looking solar corona's millions of degrees would instantly atomize any of us doesn't detract from it's beauty.
Not even close dude. And i only say that because you were pretentious enough to put a banner reading, "Is this the best eclipse video ever?" You have great data, but need to work on your processing. Most of your timelapse is overprocessed, so there is excessive luminance and especially chroma noise, and also blown out highlights. Try processing everything in 16-bit only using Lightroom and Photoshop and use LRTimelapse to edit sequences. Import 16-bit TIF frames into your post such as Premiere or Resolve.
Thank you (genuinely) for the constructive criticism. The post-production crew wants you to know they don't like the click-baity titles. The marketing department wants you to know it increases click-through and subscription rates ~20%. Also the production crew is currently squint-glaring at me so hard that I think they could look directly at the eclipse before totality. I responded that I did add a question mark to the end of pretentiousness though :-). Production crew still glaring.
Best footage on all platforms!
I'm glad I rewatched it in 4K HDR, holy smokes
Absolutely stunning footage. Thank you for sharing!

This channel will be very popular soon if you continue to put out the best footage...
Best sun selfie ever. Incredible work by your team.❤
So cool! Thanks for putting the video together!
Amazing footage, I can confirm it looked just like that! great footage!
Beautiful footage, and close enough to what I saw that it makes for an excellent share for the family and friends =)

So cool, I love how the wispy upper clouds give it a dynamic effect.

Was surprising how dark it was of to one side of the sky a few seconds before and after but the moon itself looked really big in the sky
Gobsmacking. All of the videos on this channel are amazing.

It's amazing how accidentally the moon is just the perfect size.
Well the Planet was made at Megrathea, I like Slarti's fjords of Norway
For now at least. The Moon is actually slowly moving away from the Earth at a rate of about 3.8 centimeters (1.5 inches) per year.

Outstanding. Thanks

Amazing video! Bit thank you from the person on the other side of the globe who can't travel right now!

Totally tremendous totality!
I've got a mini LED display. Also, I'm blind now. 😵💫
Spectacular!
LOL. Did you forget to put on your eclipse glasses? :-)
@@skyshowtv Now that you mention it 🤣 😎
Awesome! Thank you for sharing!
STUNNING!!!
aahhhh reminds me of staring at the sun when I was a kid. I looked so long purple flames came out from the sides. :D
Fantastic!
Just watching that 'Corona loop' at the bottom grow and grow, as a guess, what? Similar size the the actual Earth? 🤔😮
😎🇬🇧
You could probably fit multiple earths, maybe even like Neptune, inside of that loop 🤯
many times earth sized
Love it!

Needed to be in 10 bit to reduce colour banding.
It is
Crazy how bright even a sliver of the sun is!
Beautiful footage!
this is a good video on this video sharing website
I will click the thumbs up button now
Absolutely amazing! Any word on if/when we could see IFT-3 footage?
Best footage indeed luv your channel!
Great video man.
Are those persistent spikes solar flares?
Yes.
That's so cool! Didn't expect to see that!

@@rpbajb thanks for the info!

I think that’s a solar flare you’re witnessing
Wow indeed. Amazing footage and processing.

Holy brightness warning at the start if you're on a good HDR display!
Can't wait for IFT-3 footage

Stunning stuff, what's the Music btw?
Thank you
I would love to get the raw footage free of youtube compression. Still looks amazing in 4K HDR though even with the banding.
that purple!!!!
Wow
Great video! It looks like there were high clouds present.

What they saw happened eight minutes and twenty seconds ago
I love Corona beer.
Guts Theme
My entire screen just blasted my eyes with a blinding white light. Disliked because you don’t know how to edit.
