I ( Rob O'Neill) am a farmer in central Nebraska. I farm alongside my father and two brothers. We grow and produce corn and soybeans. I have a passion for farming and the use of technology that makes it more efficient. I hope these videos help farmers connect consumers in what we do on a modern farm. Thanks for watching it.
Your daughter is cuteness overload!! Good luck getting the planting done.
Hello O’Neil I’ve been trying to plant here in Tennessee but it’s a hit and miss with me glad to see your getting started
Good luck seeding your 2023 crops Rob
Great video Rob
Looking good buddy your kids getting big be safe out there your buddy from Oxford
Have a safe and fun planting season.
Don't know why everybody doesn't use a concrete trowel to check seed depth and placement. Like it!
I think having the irrigation to provide moisture is an excellent option! Thanks for taking time out from your social media obligations to provide your thirsting followers with a few drops of planting content.😈😈😄😄 Remind us of your daughters name? Has your son impaled himself on the planter yet? I would have! Happy trails!
Good luck for the season and God bless
Thanks again for the video Rob very cute little girl you got, getting it planted slowly but surely 1acre at a time 😊✅ All good. Take care of yourself and family and be Blessed ❤️❤️❤️.
Always enjoy watching and riding with you Rob. Looking forward to more videos from you.
In Texas if we want to make 300 bu corn it is best to plant May 15th. Dryland June 15th. We use drops that allow us to run the sprinkler down to 21 degrees. We have clay soil and can put on 3.5" in one trip so the cotton needs very little in the Summer. Corn, cotton makes a good rotation. Planting corn no till and cotton after strip till using the corn stubble as a Shepard and mulch to save moisture.
Boy, 21° you must have the real low drops then? Sprays or like them bubbly streamers thingy patterns?
thanks rob
Great video we are still dry
Question, why pre-irrigate vs. watering right after you plant?
The moisture is there instantly for the corn to get growing consistently immediately. Where it can take 2-3 maybe four days to make a circle with a pivot. Just in our opinion a more consistent seed bed.
Hey Rob it's looking good to me. Oh I was gonna guess what was in your eye earlier in the video. It was your finger, hahaha 😂😂🤔
Heh. Right.
What are using the load sense line for? Row unit downforce or something else
Did you get another new truck Rob?
Yep
How much water are you putting on?
Depends. Mainly .50-.60
How do you determine the amount of corn acres to bean acres
We typically keep a 1/3 rotation. Maybe swap one or two here and there depending on general economics.
Teach them when they are young
Its funny how you say highway to a 2 lane road 😁😁when here in germany a highway it's a 8 lane road autobahn The highway you show in the video here in germany its a country road
Heh, interesting.
I hope we don't have to replant beans.
Could you remove those turn signal arms? They are blocking our view!
I’ll see what I could do? Brother might wonder what I’m doing. “A guy from UA-cam asked said they were blocking his view.” 😁
