I love diamondbacks. I wanted to buy an db10 from them since I have a db15 of theirs but they don't sell .308 in a 20in SS barrel unfortunately, only 6.5cm. Now I'm thinking I either buy an aero precision with that barrel or just buy the diamondback and buy a ballistic advantage barrel and swap it...
Just found this video. I run the same setup minus the suppressor. I have swapped triggers, and have been nothing but been impressed with the accuracy, reliability, and ease of shooting. Love this gun.
I'm running a PSA upper/lower combo with a ballistic advantage 18" HBAR with rifle length system and adjustable block. I went with a matching BCG from BA when they still had them in stock. Using a BCM Gunfighter pistol grip, A2 stock, Vortex Flash Hider, 15" MLOK handguard and a USO 5-25x50 with tube mounted RMR up top. I honestly use the dot for anything 200 and closer. Ran some numbers through a ballistic calculator, and at a 4.5" height above bore, 66 yard zero gives you the best spread for a dot sitting that high. Scope runs a 100 yd zero, with quick reference DOPE numbers taped to the inside of my scope cap. The scope almost never goes above 10x magnification unless I'm spotting for another shooter. The 25x magnification definitely comes in handy for making good use of the JVCR reticle to both range targets, and spot for another shooter. The 1-10 twist will handle everything from m80 ball to MK118 LR pretty well. Mine specifically loves the 175 grain HPBTs, and even in an 18" barrel, I can touch 1k yds, though the rounds go subsonic very shortly after. If you're having issues with your AR10 cycling with a standard gas block, change your buffer weights up. I cut my rifle length buffer weight back by about half an ounce, and it's cycled fine without adjusting the gas very much at all.
The Gen3 PA-10 seems to be nicer than their Gen2 models, I had a PSA Gen2 308 and ended up selling it and building an Aero Precision M5 308 that I love and prefer. Nothing against PSA as I do like a lot of their products I just prefer Aero Precision. I personally think the Magpul Bipod is a great budget choice. My M5 has a Radian Raptor charging handle, a CMC 2-stage 1lb set 3lb release flat face trigger, a Primary Arms 4-14x44 FFP with the ACSS HUD DMR Reticle, Magpul ACS-L stock and Magpul MOE-K2+ pistol grip.
Hi, I’m getting into long range shooting and I am very interested in building an Aero Precision long range AR10. Do they have adjustable gas blocks? I have a suppressor I want to put on one once I build it. Also what exactly do I need? I’ve never completely built an AR

Barrels are not that expensive. AR parts in general are pretty affordable. Got the same scope as you and it’s a hidden gem I actually like it a bit better than my much more spendy nightforce the only palmetto I currently own is their 224 Valkyrie and it’s money
I was lucky enough to score mine at Pre insanity pricing back in Jan 2020, and love it immensely, there were a few little things that bug me though, like the edge of the rear take down pin spring end visible at 1:03 in the grip. This is poor workmanship as it is easily corrected. I swapped mine for the Magpul MIAD gen1.1 just a better fit. I also added a Magpul PSR stock for the adjustable cheek riser. It is extremely accurate and pair with the right compensator a very soft shooting platform. Palmetto has out done themselves with this and affordable. On a lighter note, it is funny you highly recommend Arken Optics scopes, … while wearing a Vortex shirt! LOL Good review and got the same reliability although a tad better accuracy, but I used a LaRure MBT-2S trigger at 1/2 the money as the Gisele with equally crisp break.
PSA makes great rifles and components. Period. They now make a $300 glock clone that is a better value than a glock…check it out. P.S. I really glocks though,
Question: You mention a 'rough sight in'. Can you give us a breakdown on how well it grouped @ 100 yards? Would you be willing to go back out, and shoot a few groups @ 100 for us? Thanks in Advance!
Can you do a video on the most accurate bolt action for $1000, $1500, $2000, and $2500. Then another video of Barret MRad 6.5 creedmore vs desert tech SRSm2 6.5 creedmore?
I just checked the site now and as of 07/31/2024 it's in stock for $999.99 Not bad at all... The Chromoly version barrel is $1040 I'd probably go .308 in mine The Upgrades I'd probably make would be.. I'd probably see if the gas block fits on a wilson combat barrel. I'd definitely get the ambi charging handle. Maybe swap out the buffer spring & lastly maybe upgrade the BCG. I'm currently building an Aero Precision AR15.. I did get a drop in palmetto match trigger. For an AR10.. I'd like to get a full gun.. I'm going to either get the one you have in this video or an Aero version. Your video definitely sells me a bit on the Palmetto.
Odd I just found this. Just put together a very similar gun w/ same optic. Aero-Precision lower, Bear Creek upper (for the side charging), 22" stainless Creedmoor bull barrel, and an adjustable (and cut-off-able) gas block. Idea is to be able, with a few clicks, to run it as a side-charging bolt gun, ish. Luth full length modular stock and ATLAS clone bipod. FDE lower so controls contrast. Other than the FDE, I started watching the video had a reality moment
To an extent, you get what you pay for. There is also a Law of Diminishing Returns, and at some level, you end up paying $500 for the brand with little to show for it besides the etching on the receiver. The proof is in the pudding. If it is reliable and shoots well, nothing on either end is going to tell much difference between a PSA and a KAC.
I don't know if its just me and the way I was raised but I'd much rather be low budget on the gun and spend the rest on the optic. Currently building a bca 308 and areo lower hoping to buy a decent optic and find some sort of clip on night vision to use with it on down the road.
I had a Gen1 PA10 many years ago, you could hold it up and shake it, it sounded like two skeletons fucking on a tin roof, but it shot and grouped pretty decent.
Great segment, I am considering an Arken EP5 5-25X56 or the EP5 7-35X56 with either a 0 MOA or 20 MOA Precision Mount for my PSA AR10 6.5 Creedmoor build/assemble. Would apricate any input on what scope and mount to choose. Would like to shoot in the 100-to-1000-yard ranges.
Great video. If someone signed up for a long range class as a bucket list item and may not do this type of thing again what good solid but reasonably priced bipod would you recommend today? Asking for a friend...
Nice gun for sure. I’ve tried an Arken and just didn’t care for it all that much. I was hopeful for it, but what I want out of a scope is just too much I guess. The glass wasn’t all that clear to me and that’s a big no go. I like the scope mounts and all that too.
That rifle is about $850 now. But, on "Daily Deals", you can often find a complete lower for about $220 and a complete upper for $510-$520. That's $740 for a complete rifle.
My psa setup was just under 2 grand as well. Went with gen3 pa10 and put a radian raptor charging handle, vortex diamondback tactical ffp 4-16x44 and vortex cantilever mount. Added an apollo max brake and magpul ms1 qd sling. That total included a wheeler fat wrench and leveling kit, and vism ar10 vise block to do the scope mount and install the brake. Have to try that Harris bipod. Don't care for the magpul bipod
@Fyoutube444 doesn't make it any louder, nor does any brake. But it does redirect a lot of the gas and noise backward at an angle. So if someone is beside or behind you it will be louder in that direction than normal.
@brett9382 I will have to check. It was a package deal on optics planet. They had the scope for 399.99, or the scope with the vortex mount for 439.99. I didn't really look which one it was.
After watching your video on your AR10. I see what you actually have is a LR10 which is normally a little bit cheaper set up that is based off of the DPMS design and pretty much nothing from a LR10 will interchange with a AR10
PSA does make budget friendly AR's. I do however believe your still shooting 1MOA or greater. It is difficult to see since you are running suppressed which changes grouping. I would say you optic was the star of this video, but would like you to shoot it against an Votex Diamondbacks, or Athlon Ares.
I'll never own another Harbor Freight pa-10. I had nothing but trouble with mine and pa customer service was extremely hard to get in touch with. When I sent it back they said nothing was wrong with the upper receiver or barrel and they pretty much said I was the problem. I lost all my boats in a shooting range accident, good luck and be careful.
Got the same scope as you and it’s a hidden gem I actually like it a bit better than my much more spendy nightforce the only palmetto I currently own is their 224 Valkyrie and it’s money
MIRA safety ad, let’s go
Holy.. that last distance was crazy accurate. I believe you said 680yards. Great shooting man. If that didn’t sell this rifle, idk what will lol
I just bought the scope and the accessories using your coupon code and I believe receive $170 discount, all for my AR 10 build
I just built my first PSA gen 3 .308 today... My springs don't show lol
Larue triggers are great for the money.
Im in the process of getting the parts together to build an m5 .308 and I am definitely getting an Arken scope
Great video, however I chose the Arken 4-16 for better glass and a more forgiving eye-box.
nice set up. so far all my AR 10 are DPMS. around here we are lucky to have a 300 yard range.
Yea I run a 10 round mag on my Sig 716 piston gun when on the bench also
thank you ,thank you ,thank you ,love the set up and the price, good shotting.
PSA makes great rifles and components. Period. They now make a $300 glock clone that is a better value than a glock…check it out. P.S. I really glocks though,
Knockoff Glock=Glockoff
Great content! All the info i was looking for. Thank you! You got my subscribe!
Nice work bench who makes it
I'm considering a set up like this but in .308. Ammo is a little bit cheaper.
Last thing I want on any rifle is a Chinese made optic. I understand budgets are different for everyone, but save money to get a quality made optic.
If you still have this rifle you should bring it back out for the 1 MOA at a 1000 yard challenge!
Well said! I got .308 version
I love PSA I just wish they’d cost these barrels to kill the shine.
Take the hand guard off and hit the bbl with a strip of 400-600 grit sandpaper. Not much pressure.. it’ll give a brushed effect.
Or you could, you know, shoot it.
Good video. Ilike the objective content and not falling down the lane of have to spend four digets $$$$ on everything.
I just checked the site now and as of 07/31/2024 it's in stock for $999.99
Not bad at all... The Chromoly version barrel is $1040
I'd probably go .308 in mine
The Upgrades I'd probably make would be.. I'd probably see if the gas block fits on a wilson combat barrel.
I'd definitely get the ambi charging handle.
Maybe swap out the buffer spring
& lastly maybe upgrade the BCG.
I'm currently building an Aero Precision AR15.. I did get a drop in palmetto match trigger.
For an AR10.. I'd like to get a full gun.. I'm going to either get the one you have in this video or an Aero version.
Your video definitely sells me a bit on the Palmetto.
Great review! Thank you.
I would love to see a review on the sig sauer cross!!
Currently building a bca 308 and areo lower hoping to buy a decent optic and find some sort of clip on night vision to use with it on down the road.
dude im literally gonna buy the arken glass through your link. lifetime warranty? as a poor man, thats just SHEEEESH
I waited for deals, and bought the upper and lower separately. I spend $675!
Built an ar10 for 430$ 80p lower, palmetto lower kit, and bca upper.
I had a Gen1 PA10 many years ago, you could hold it up and shake it, it sounded like two skeletons fucking on a tin roof, but it shot and grouped pretty decent.
I have 2 psa rifels and I love them both
If you have the coupon code at the right time you can get the arken mount for free with the scope. You could knock another 60 bux off the budget.
I have one of those in 308 and I'm putting a Radian Raptor CH on it 😎
Great segment, I am considering an Arken EP5 5-25X56 or the EP5 7-35X56 with either a 0 MOA or 20 MOA Precision Mount for my PSA AR10 6.5 Creedmoor build/assemble. Would apricate any input on what scope and mount to choose. Would like to shoot in the 100-to-1000-yard ranges.
Would be nice to find the parts at a good price.
Great video. If someone signed up for a long range class as a bucket list item and may not do this type of thing again what good solid but reasonably priced bipod would you recommend today? Asking for a friend...
I would like your thoughts on a comparison of the 6.5CM and the .308 as it applies to this PSA
I want that workbench. Where did you find it? or did you build it? @Texas Plinking
Nice shooting!
Nice gun for sure. I’ve tried an Arken and just didn’t care for it all that much. I was hopeful for it, but what I want out of a scope is just too much I guess. The glass wasn’t all that clear to me and that’s a big no go. I like the scope mounts and all that too.
Just picked up the 308 20 in barrel 899.00 can't wait to shoot it
Great video sir! Thanks for the info 🤙🏽🔥
Would like to know more about the sandbag silencer.
Is that Apollo Max brake pretty loud?
@Fyoutube444 doesn't make it any louder, nor does any brake. But it does redirect a lot of the gas and noise backward at an angle. So if someone is beside or behind you it will be louder in that direction than normal.
What hight cantilever scope mount did you get? I just picked up a pa10 and thinking about taking my Diamondback tactical off my hunting rifle.
@brett9382 I will have to check. It was a package deal on optics planet. They had the scope for 399.99, or the scope with the vortex mount for 439.99. I didn't really look which one it was.
@@brett9382 doesn't list a height, but I got the 2 inch offset, 30mm tube
Great video, you need to add in the price of the sweet OSS can too
I see that gen 2 razor hiding in the back there 🧐
Info on the silencer, have a PSA Gen3 AR-10 in .308 and looking for one.
Great video.
Great vid!!! Ty!!!
After watching your video on your AR10. I see what you actually have is a LR10 which is normally a little bit cheaper set up that is based off of the DPMS design and pretty much nothing from a LR10 will interchange with a AR10
When can will you upload a 5 plinkers video again
Great videos! What is the toolbox you have in the background? Love it!
Great job. Great video. Thank you.
God bless all here
PSA does make budget friendly AR's. I do however believe your still shooting 1MOA or greater. It is difficult to see since you are running suppressed which changes grouping. I would say you optic was the star of this video, but would like you to shoot it against an Votex Diamondbacks, or Athlon Ares.
Dude was all over that target from 680yards lol What more do you need to see
That's good value.
Comment for the algorithm 👍I will be looking for a PSA now.
I'll never own another Harbor Freight pa-10. I had nothing but trouble with mine and pa customer service was extremely hard to get in touch with. When I sent it back they said nothing was wrong with the upper receiver or barrel and they pretty much said I was the problem. My long range AR-10 is the S&W MP-10 .308 I now own 3 MP-10's and never had a problem out of any of them. My MP-10 6.5 Creed I've shot it out to a mile with several hits on steel.
Does your mp10 have an adjustable gas block?
@@bigman-adv nope
@@brazzy1467 thanks.
Palmetto state is VALID!!!!
WOW !
Nice AR10 rifle
Awesome shooter
Amazingly Awesome for under $2,000 you can't go wrong
You could really have some fun with your AR10
It's got some distance
I would like to see what distance It's capable of with that scope and set-up
Thank You for Sharing Respectfully Elbert
I built pretty much the same rifle got the rifle actually cheaper same optic different bipod but it is a great setup
Thank you 😊
since i cannot find a definitive answer from anywhere else, what exactly is the overall length of the psa pa10 in .308 with a collapsed stock and a 20 inch barrel?
