I hate to say it, but these fire truck parades are stupid for a couple of basic reasons. 1. Most sirens produce sound that exceeds the harmful to hearing level and can cause some hearing loss in the bystander. Some sirens, even if you are in an enclosed cab are loud enough to require noise reducing headphones. 2. When you have a parade with this number of apparatus and the required personnel, you are reducing the operational capacity of the district they are supposed to serve. Even if they leave the parade to respond to their district on a call you have already increased your response time.
