Thank you Robert. Quality teaching should always specify ideas in my opinion. This is why I only teach via narrow approaches. A broad approach, while looking good on paper, doesn't specify much in the learning experience.
Ha! It is a simple principle as most improvement in one's playing can be attributed to. One simple little harmonic figure can change your whole musical life. And so can doing pull offs with the non-plucking hand. :)
Could be. I'm not really sure. I don't think that I ever saw it before. But, because some people didn't realize which hand was generally the dominant pull-off hand, I am glad to have helped with this.
Jeff looks like he was up all night with the muse. One of the best bassists ever! Those pull offs sound tasty as hell.
Such a consummate professional Jeff all the finer points detailed perfectly
Cool as always Jeff !
Real cool, thanks for the lesson. I'm enthused by the way you spell it out and make it clear.

Thank you Jeff for sharing this. You are such a great teacher and bass player. Greatings from Argentina.
This is great.. thanks Jeff💙
I learned this as the concept of "lead in tones" to create a lil tension before the implied, though not always present downbeat note...

F###### brilliant lesson. At last. Some one on UA-cam qualified to teach! Not an academic. Not an amateur. A PROPER MUSICIAN!
Jeff, what if I want to do a deep-dive into the techniques of Gene Simmons? Do you provide classes on his stylings?
Lol
Lol awesome!
Hammer-on when ascending I guess?
Nobody can touch Berlin's shit.
im realizing that more and more.. his teaching is so much more beneficial than victor wooten videos.
so no one except Jeff Berlin in the history of jazz has ever done a pull off in a bassline.
veblenrules misses entire point of the lesson
