This investigation reveals the environmental tragedy hidden behind the greenwashing of mass retail brands. At the end of 2018, China stopped the importation of plastic waste from around the world to recycle and use the residue as fuel. Since then, the majority of waste from many European countries ends up in Indonesia, because shipping it there is much cheaper than recycling it in Europe. In Java, in the immense port of Surabaya, the smuggling of thousands of tonnes of plastics illegally imported in paper containers keeps villages drowning in the toxic fumes of non-recyclable plastic residue.

Ça créer surtout du chômage et fait économiser de l'argent aux entreprises de recyclage.
Je bosse dans le recyclage et très franchement,quand je vois tout ce que l'on met en enfouissement parce que seul le bizness compte.
Ce reportage est ridicule.
