Neo Turf Masters and Prehistoric Isle are two of my favorites. Really cool hack. I stayed away from getting one because I looked at it as basically a cash grab at the time. With the hack I wouldn’t have to worry about that. I just might be in the market for one very soon because of your awesome video here Joel. Pumping out great content per usual.

Well done! Being able to hack these stand alone classic style releases is the only reason I find them appealing. Gotta have a good menu though which this seems to have. I really don't like when these are hacked into text-only lists of games rather than with the artwork. 😁👍

The more I see what the Hylo hack does, the more I like it! Too bad about the Genesis emulation being rough, I'm sure different emulators handle different hardware better than others. Nice video, thanks brother!

What is the best way to add just a few games? I really don't want thousands of random games especially other consoles like SNES, Genesis, etc. on my stick as I have other systems for those. I just want to add some "missing" NeoGeo games to this and maybe some non-SNK arcade games?

Are you talking about Capcom VS SNK 2 because judging by the system they're using, it's probably not powerful enough to run NAOMI Board games (which CvS 1 & 2 were designed on)
Did you check MAME games emulations? I considering getting this to emulate rest of old arcade games from 80s to 90s period. Shinobi and similar type of games. Kind regards, Dado.
Hello, a question, download hylo 1.3 to usb, the console loads the folder but at the end a black screen appears. It has passed you. I tried the standard ASP and the Christmas edition. I can not take the last step. How can I solve the problem? or should I get a new hylo?
@@Matthew-vb8qb you should be able to but it automatically turns on when using Scanlines. But you should be able to if you disable Scanlines. I think I covered it in my original review and unboxing of the device.

I just wonder: on my NeoGeo ASP, Metal Slug X (unlocked through the official key) shows totally corrupted graphics in the 1st level. The other parts seem to run fine. Is this an issue with my device only or a common problem?
I haven’t had that issue. This isn’t technical advice but you could do a factory reset and unlock and reinstall Hylo and see if that fixes the issue. I can’t take responsibility on this though just a thought.
I don't have the issue with the Hylo mod, but with the original ASP. The 20 additional games from the SNK site unlocked fine, but Metal Slug X shows graphic corruption. I did a factory reset and unlocked the 20 games again but this didn't fix it. I also found a few comments about this here and there in some forums over the world, but am surprised that none of the UA-cam reviews of the ASP seems to mention the corrupted official version of Metal Slug X.
When this came out I was trying to decide to buy it, or neogeo mini, or capcom home arcade, or pandoras box 3d. As a fellow poor gamer who wants alot of games with best processing I opted for pandoras box 3d. Lower cost with more games and power. Its ironic capcom and neogeo copied the very uniquely Chinese creation of Pandora's boxes. Ive seen this trend eksewhere in tech over the yrs where rather than China being copy cats they are innovating and being copied by western brands whom never match the low price and quality, just like the situation i mentioned above.

Hey man I have now bought the ASP and successfully hacked the device, I am soooo happy with it, I have bought some seimitsu joystick and buttons to swap over and also a pair of white neo geo controllers, Thank you so much for your videos, i love the channel.

I bought this and was incredibly disappointed on the quality of the emulation (or the speed of the device). The was some serious frame skipping on every game I tried which I found completely unacceptable for a device focusing on playing Neo Geo games. I’m surprised this is spoken of more…

You need to find the Hylo Stick version 1.3 file and load it on a thumb drive. Then update the system with that file. There are a lot of tutorials on UA-cam that walk you through it step by step. Thanks for watching!

My review: it's a great product, _but I never use it._ I own two of them: they gather dust. Does that mean it's a bad product? No, but be honest with yourself: you may be buying something that is too niche for you to use it, and that overlaps with the functionality of other products that you already have. And yeah, BTW, Neo Geo is now (officially) emulated (in professional software by SNK themselves) on mobile phones, _legally and officially:_ the "ACA" series (of recent and still ongoing re-releases) in the Android shop.
There use to be a hack available. Also there a few extra NeoGeo games available on the SNK website. I would check for both before buying. I’m not sure the hack is still available

You can go to SNK website and around download 20 or so games and them to the ASP.

I’m using a 64gb thumb stick from Amazon. It’s cheap but it has plenty of room and it works great.

You need to download Hylo Stick, put it on the usb drive. Then run the update (Hylo Stick) off the usb drive. There is no hardware modding needed.

Good question. The roms that downloaded with the hack were all AES games. I’ve not tried Neo Geo Cd roms.
