I love how everyones going balls to the wall to keep up with Savoie and Bedard while they both shoot the shit between whistles like "ey nice play brother" "thanks homes"
Not many Bedard highlights where he stood out but i just watched his first big game for the Canadian junior team and looked very impressive especially considering his age.
Check out his highlight tape we made for him.....This was a tough game and he did make some pretty great plays...Think he was 14 though and playing vs the best midget players...still impressive
He's decent for his age, if he spends time developing and controlling his shot, rather than trying to pick corners and going high, creating rebounds and staying strong on the puck he'll truly be a force to wrecken with. I don't want to hear "he's probably better than you who are you" I played D1 college hockey at west point started as a freshman, I'm not saying he's bad but he definitely hasnt fully developed yet once he does he'll be great
Seriously best years of my life. I played AAA hockey (at the time highest level) not far from here and even going to provincials in my first year bantam AAA. I advanced and played some junior hockey until I was 19. My advice to any kid, do your best and love the game. Go as far as you can and take a scholarship if you can. I had friends chase the dream into their 20’s and they got nothing out of it. Have your fun but be real to yourself about the NHL, its wicked rare. Still play elite level mens league and Im happy I still do. Love this game! Seeing the skills of kids today, they would of dusted me 20 years ago. Unreal.
Lifted his stick then his leg got behind the other kids. Refs probably called it a slew foot. Tough call.....probably could have got a minor for tripping or interference.
@@Civitect Sure but for being "exceptional status" he was badly outplayed by multiple players in this game which is something the scoresheet won't tell you. If I get an assist first shift then be a ghost for the rest of the game do I technically have a good game?
@@CKMDhockey97 I mean I guess you wouldn’t. But these kids play 60+ games a year and we’re seeing 1. And bedard consistently scores throughout those 60+ games, while being a double underager.
@@standoutsportsvideo Crosby was considerably better at this age than either of them. Throwing around “phenom”, “prodigy” and “generational talent” like it’s promo code, dumb as f.
@@bc1173 We don't know for certain because players back then weren't as good as they are now. We agree about throwing around tags like that gets kinda lame. Honestly though the kids these days are really good, especially in leagues like the CSSHL where they go to school and play hockey all day. Crosby played against kids that played in the traditional system of practice before and after school, no video reviews, less pro and paid coaches etc... The only thing we can say is that if these kids commit to working as hard as Crosby day in day out, they are on the right path to becoming the next great one. Until then, many things will happen and change.
It's hard to say who's actually "better".....They are fundamentally different players. Bedard is an exceptional scorer with one of the best shots the CSSHL has ever seen. In our opinion, Dylan Guenther had a better shot but no one else comes close. Savoie's game is interesting because he's evolved different parts of it. We've seen him play for the last two years in 12 games and he's become more physical and hungry. That mentality is hard to come by especially when you're at the top. Only time will tell who achieves more.
