I own a MK3 37 key one myself. I love it, and the size is perfect for my needs. The larger ones are not as portable, and the smaller ones are too compact for how I like to use it.

Been debating which keyboard controller to get for awhile and this seems dope. The scale mode selection basically being straight off the Circuit is super smart and LOVE that they put a screen on there so you can actually see/confirm selections. Great video and glad to see your studio is coming along!

    1. How does this stack up against the keystep 37, in terms of keys ?

    3. Do the knobs also send information via the MIDI out ?

      Main differences of non-mini keyboards:
      - more dedicated buttons ( so less use of shift key needed)
      - lcd display
      - scale modes
      - scale chords
      - pitch /modulation wheels

If you have a laptop you can take on the road, I'd recommend the Launchkey Mini MK3 controller to get you started! That's like the little brother to the controllers in this video. Great price (~$110 USD), amazing functionality (pads, keys, function buttons, etc.), small form factor (great for travel), and it comes with Ableton Live Lite, which is a free (but very capable) music production software. I think you'll be able to get some pretty good mileage (sorry, couldn't resist the pun) with just those few things! Cheers and good luck 👍

It would be amazing coz I am torn between the two. NI has amazing sound design plugins and integration but Launchkey is amazing for learning, pads and Ableton. If we can control most of NKS compatible plugins through Launchkey then it would be just amazing. Hope they also add endless encoders in the next update.

I'm in the market for a 49-key right now, and I had just made my mind up on the Alesis Vi49, because I previously owned the Vi25, and I liked the semi-weighted keys and the 4x4 drum pad layout.
But.. I was comparing it against the older launchkey model. The Mk3 49 looks really nice! I'm torn now, because I like my semi-weighted keys and pads laid out in a 4x4 square for drumming. But this looks better in every other way..
    Help? XD

If you’re an Ableton user the workflow features alone make it worth it, however if semi weighted keys are important - figure out HOW important that is to you

¡Hola, crack!

Hi! It'd be so amazing if you made a tutorial of Launckey Mini MK3 with FL studio? There aren't many videos like that! It'll be a huge help! 😅

I think i'm going for the 25 MK3 version. Looks awesome and worth the extra bucks compared with the Mini.

Nice video! I just got my new launch key mk3 25. I have hard trouble to make it work as a midi controller for my Volca keys (obviously both devices are on channel 1). Do you have any hint?
btw, the 25 version as a 3.5 minijack input for the midi out.

I believe you mean the midi- I’m not sure as I don’t have a vocla, I know it I’ve heard about issues with the polarity on the lk midi out potentially be reversed from what some gear receives...idk sorry I can’t be more helpful

Try changing midi channel and local off on volca.Or maybe volca on ch.2-to MK3 on ch.2/MK3 is just for ch.1or Omni.

As a newbie in the keyboard world, I was looking into this one. And since I don't know much about these overall, I was wondering if it would play nice with Reaper?

I’m about to order one of the new Launchkey keyboards. Probably the MK3 3 47 or 61. I’ll be going midi out into my Scarlett 2l2 which of course is USB to my computer. Will I have all of the seamless integration with Ableton Live 10 that you show in your video?
    Thx. Gary D

The 2i2 does not have midi in/out. For controllers like these you can connect them directly to your computer with usb

Are the keys durable? Many youtubers are claiming it's a downgrade compared to the mk2. Planning to buy one. Great presentation, appreciate your work.👍👍
