This is a great keyboard! I got the 37 key model and it's been doing wonders for me so far. I needed something to replace a keyboard that wouldn't work with Pro Tools, and this did just that and so so so so so so much more! I'm in love with the pads on top along with the familiar and extended amount of keys. I will say as a warning, for windows users with McAfee, if the driver and Novation Components app aren't in your excluded files in Real Time Scanning, your computer will restart once the keyboard is disconnected, or, in my case, as soon as you plug it in. Once you get past that, you'll be in MIDI heaven. Overall, it's an absolutely awesome budget keyboard with a slue of included software! I'd recommend it for starters like me
Man. I don't know that I'd take that much gear out there, but I've been here for more than 15 years. I'm glad you got out with no issues. Welcome to town.
I'm learning a lot from your videos. Thank you. You're unassuming, yet very knowledgeable and a great teacher. I own a MK3 37 key one myself. I love it, and the size is perfect for my needs. The larger ones are not as portable, and the smaller ones are too compact for how I like to use it.
Hi, great video ! I have a couple of questions: 1. How does this stack up against the keystep 37, in terms of keys ? 2. Can I control a MIDI instrument with the pads instead of the keys ? 3. Do the knobs also send information via the MIDI out ?
Been debating which keyboard controller to get for awhile and this seems dope. The scale mode selection basically being straight off the Circuit is super smart and LOVE that they put a screen on there so you can actually see/confirm selections. Great video and glad to see your studio is coming along!
OMGosh, dude, you're amazing. Thank you so much for these videos. I feel blessed finding your channel. You share all the info I need to survive this pandemic at home alone. All the best to you! :)

Love your work bro! Wondering if you would be able to do a mid price 49 key keyboard comparison like the launchkey 49, Arturia essential 49, and native instruments a49 :)
Hey Taetro! I've been watching your videos for a while on how to produce music! And because of it i decided to get my own midi controller and I'm getting the launchkey mini mk3 in a week or two👌🏻😩
been using the launch key mini MK 3 based on your reccomendation, but using it on FL Studio and isnt completely compatible, after figuring out how to work around it dam its good!will probs get this midi keyboard if i decide upgrade
i am about to use this also with FL what do you think? should i just skip the entire novation stuff and look for a compatible option or is it worth to spend some time and figure it out? thx for the answer (both of you)
@@pjtrow Truth be told man, it's the same as if it were a compatible Midi Controller. The difference is for novation MK3 specifically you need to adjust some settings. So many people making videos similar to T.’s but the vibe here is just dope..🔥🔥🔥 enjoying this Channel. I’m a Musician at heart but Truck Driving is how I make a living for now which I also enjoy, what can anyone recommend for making music on the move since I live in a very small space, just wondering if y’all had any suggestions. Thanks 🙏🏽..
If you have a laptop you can take on the road, I'd recommend the Launchkey Mini MK3 controller to get you started! That's like the little brother to the controllers in this video. Great price (~$110 USD), amazing functionality (pads, keys, function buttons, etc.), small form factor (great for travel), and it comes with Ableton Live Lite, which is a free (but very capable) music production software. I think you'll be able to get some pretty good mileage (sorry, couldn't resist the pun) with just those few things! Cheers and good luck 👍
Great video production quality! The outside scenes are beautiful. I bought the Mini MK III on your recommendation and using it with Ableton now. Really loving it.

Main differences of non-mini keyboards: - more dedicated buttons ( so less use of shift key needed) - lcd display - scale modes - scale chords - pitch /modulation wheels
Such a useful video. I've had an Akai mpk mini on order for 2 months, but this has got me thinking! As a piano player, I'm attracted to the idea of 37 keys instead of 25. Plus I use Ableton. 🤔
It would seem, with the added octave, you could set it up so it plays 2 octaves on the "lower octaves", thus getting full chords while maintaining portability.
Feel like midi controllers are the one thing that it's worth to get the newest version. I have the 49 key mk2. Love having the rgb pads on the mk2 but the built in functions have improved so much in the newest gen controllers. Can't wait to see how they keep changing! Hope the new apartment is becoming home!!

Hey thanks for the great video and review! I’m considering buying my first midi keyboard and I want some portability. 37 keys sounds like a sweet spot to me. How does the quality of the Keybed compare to that of Arturia MiniLab Mk2? Any comment would be helpful. Thanks!
