Because, spandex "armor" is much more believable at protecting them from harm when they're fighting overpowered jagged alien monsters on foot.

Ranger Reviewer It isn't advice, it's simple common sense, science and fact. ;)
Everyone is allowed to have their own opinion. And with that being said I think based off of the little information we have gotten on the suit designs...that they are "alien technology" and where these are based on the original MMPR suits both zyuranger and the old movie; these new suits are pretty damn good. The picture that was released today is most likely a rendering so expect them to look a little different. It's a new take on Power Rangers so it's pretty cool we're going to be able to see them back in action. Personally I see a lot of influence from the old movie. Almost like a bio armor. Once we getter a better look at them all I bet more people will begin to like them.
I don't hate nore like. I like Alien back story for the costumes....I'll try to keep a open mined until then. =)
I like suits. Base on the mythology of the series. These suits fits. The articles said that the suits alien made and not mad made. Again that from the show. The setting of the movie is suppose to be today. But the ranger just have alien tech. Again from the show.
As for the feeling that these don't feel like Power Ranger to me. I get the feeling when ever I see a new sentai. But the thing is that they always changing. As long as long they do something original with it. Will that what Power Rangers have always done.
Ya These suit don't look like the Power Ranger we grew up with. But we grown and mature. The filmmakers know this.

Sources say that the suit comes from an "alien crystalis" that materializes into the suits. So they are definitely not connecting this to dinosaurs at all. The suits are fine but nothing special, typical Hollywood design. Black and Blue look the most different compared to their original designs. I still get a little Zyuranger vibe from the helmets on Red, yellow and pink. I wish they wouldn't look so much like Iron Man, Ant Man and Metal Heroes.

the old mmpr Suits look better then this i haven't seen a screw up this bad since Hollywood redesign godzilla in 98
when they made godzilla in to a mutated iguana I rather watch the original TV show instead of this reboot
