I bought it and am pleased. Im not an audiophile but I wanted a decent hifi listening experience that wouldnt break the bank so I bought HD6XX to pair with it. Very happy with this set up that will last me hopefully for many years.
i bought this one and no regrets at all... all in one solution for all my gears... notebook.. cellphone.. vinyl... use it for speaker headphones and iem... sound wise.. its detailed but not that much.. linear... very nice for the price range
FiiO listened to their customers. Ain't that nice? FiiO also released K9 recently, which is priced between K7 and K9 Pro. FiiO is rolling this year! Thanks for this review and that update on the dial knob.
thank you for your words! what personally I like about FiiO is their openness in design/develop approach. For many products they publish long explanations how and why they did some particular things, and it's a great read also I like that they've published their releases plan for year, so everyone can evaluate options like "buy X now or wait for Y release"
There were some people complaining about the volume knob on the vanilla, did they fix that with the BT version? Also, any idea if they are going to release k7 pro version? 🤔
it's only for BT, as it's done by a BT chip. as for LDAC, as far as I remember yes, but I'm not 100% confident. it's better to ask FiiO's support to be sure
I’m a noob and want to buy a dac/amp for beyerd dt990 pro250 ohm. This dac/amp or Fiio K5 pro ESS ? I don’t care much about feature but the power and sounds which one is better. Thank you very much. 😇
It's pretty simple, K7 is newer, and it sounds better: more dynamic and with better control. So K7 is a better choice. If you don't need BT, you can save extra $50 taking non BT version
"everything became better with a bluetooth" (c) in this case BT is definitely not a main thing, as it's a headphones DAC/amp after all, but still it could've been added. but I suspect FiiO just decided not to do that to keep price lower
Can you turn the rgb light off? Fiio put out a patch for R7 to allow users to do that, but since R7BT is supported by Fiio Control you should be able to do that in the options?
You can not turn it off. FiiO offered an XMOS update to customers who contact them directly, but requires the end user to open the K7/BT up and use a XMOS update device. This permanently turns the RGB ring off. Unlike its older siblings, the RGB ring is not controllable via the FiiO app.
Well, I had no other choice but like Wilson's music, as I first heard Porcupine Tree, then his solo works (they are a bit monotone, but "The Raven…" stands out from the rest), and only after that I've learned about remixes, and here I agree, they are outstanding

Congratulations on your purchase! It's a great setup for a budget

roll out...roll out👍🏼
FiiO is one of the few large corporations that does actually listen to its customers and interacts with them too on Head-Fi.

I think they skipped a k7 pro and released a k9 and k9 pro ess instead
pretty good these. use mine with focal cans on 4.4mm balanced. considering getting the ft3's although they are fairly high ohmage
thank you for sharing
32 ohm versions are out I have them
Loved FiiO ever since I got the X1 back in around 2014-2015. I dropped mine in a glass of milk though and didn't notice and it stopped working =(
that's definitely an unusual death for a piece of gear )))
6:12 i bet u mean optical input, great detailed review pavlo, thanks, God Bless us all 🙏😊
yes, thank you for corrections! all the greatest wishes to you too!

@@mateuszprygon9551 yes, but K7 will be better, so if the difference for you isn't critical, I'd suggest K7
if I understood , I can connect with Bluetooth my iphone and hear the songs using the amp?
exactly! it's the goal of BT receiver
So the BT is a receiver only ? meaning it can't transmit music to a BT headphone
yes, it's a receiver only
Thanks
Nicely Done.
Is this a truly balanced circuitry ?
Thanks
Well, I didn't go inside of this device, but FiiO labeled it as a "Trully balanced DAC/Amp", so it's safe to assume it is
Is this similar or better than the Qudelix-5k?
better, especially with some full-size cans
@PortaFi I have the Sennheiser HD660S. Do you think the FiiO K7 would be a good DAC AMP for my headphones? Thanks for replying
I didn't test HD660, but most likely it'll be a great pair. K7 is technical, with good power output and control
Excellent review as usual Cleg any chance you will be reviewing the new FiiO K9?
sure I will, it's in a near plans

возможно дело в источнике в том числе. думаю они уже выпустили обновление, если это не прям аппаратный баг

Can it be plugged into my laptop and stream audio to Bluetooth headphones?
no, it's just a receiver, not a transmitter. for transmitting purposes you can consider FiiO BTA30 Pro
I enjoy Steven WIlson's remixes but can't stand his music!
