Miriam, wow!! I just couldn't stop smiling at hearing you talking, I know this takes courage and well done for taking the step and adding something more of you to your videos👍👍 No going back now that it is done and think of all what lies ahead when you can tell us about your adventures as well as showing us. Donegal here we come😊 A beautifully fresh autumnal walk with glorious colours on the land and in the sky😊
Ah thanks Gerry - I know you get it! There may be no going back but another option of bailing is frequently attractive to me too!! It truly has been such a vulnerable journey to date - I don't even mean the speaking, the whole thing. I first started posting by accident in trying to share a video with a pal in the US and I saw UA-cam as a repository for previous videos I'd made...then I just got into it more, learning and being inspired by all of you! Still trying to carve my own path with it all, such a vulnerable thing to do...taking a risk in putting myself out there and facing my own inner critic again and again!
Miriam, not sure how much I believe in accidents😊 Carving your own path in your own time is the way to do it.Totally agree that putting yourself out there is such a big thing to do, with that voice always telling you that it is not good enough!! It has taken me such a long time to build the confidence to talk on my videos and to have a degree of confidence with it, though it has been a worthwhile journey and allows me to share more of what I love with others. Again well done on having the courage to take another step, that is what walking is all about👣😊
Hi Miriam! Found your channel through Alan Metalman's channel. Just subbed to support a fellow UA-cam vlogger and female hiker out there. Any friend of Alan's is a friend of mine. Love him to pieces. Looking forward to watching more of your videos and following along with your channel all the way from the east coast of the US. ~RVA~
Thanks so much for your comment! It’s true that there aren’t many women I come across who do what we do - nice to hear from you and I look forward to getting to know you through your videos some more 🤗 Alan is a sweetheart for sure and very generous and supportive! Really nice to hear from you - thanks for reaching out!!
Aw thanks Kevin 😊 That’s lovely to hear!! So nice to think that anyone might enjoy them. I’ll get back out there with the camera soon hopefully and give it a go again 😎
I have never visited Ireland. What I find from following the walking and climbing channels that at their best they not only inspire interest in my taking on that route, but I often think people will want to visit Scotland as general tourists. I noticed you opened here with a major Ireland climbing book and then with the views captured and valued by you, you will have left a positive regard. We all benefit from positive influences on the internet. Thx for posting.
Thank you for watching! Yep - UA-cam has a lot of positive byproducts, it certainly has inspired me to explore my own country a lot more as a result of being inspired by others and it’s really nice to hear the knock on effect of how some of the places I’ve visited have inspired or moved others. There’s plenty of negatives that I can be attuned to with UA-cam but so many positives too! Thanks for reminding me of some of the good things 😉 Nice that you’re getting to see some more of Irelands landscape - cheers for your message 👍
Lovely video as always Miriam. That was better presented than Nationwide. Looking forward to getting my hands on that book too so thanks for sharing. Never gone that route before so nice to see it on video and as usual you play great music. 👍 ATB. Joe
Ah cheers Joe - I’ll be sticking with the day job rather than looking for a job in Fair City or Nationwide for sure 😉 You’ll love the book - its pictures draw me in and have inspired me to get in the car to travel further afield (especially while we are allowed…please God that won’t change again!) Thanks for your comment and for watching the video - the video doesn’t do the views from Djouce justice at all (as you know) but the wind stopped me from even holding the GoPro when up on top! I considered not posting it but hey - I possibly just needed to do my Nationwide stint for this one and just get it done!! 🙃
Miriam, Thank you so much for your videos. They really mean a lot to me. There is something magical about Ireland. Although I live in the US, the times I spent in Ireland spoke to my soul ... the friendliness of the people, the animals, the landscape, the sky and sea ... all of that and so much more. Countless times it left a lump in my throat. It is such a gift for us to share your journeys. Much appreciated.
Awww Kriss - what a lovely message 🤗 I’m delighted you enjoyed the video. It’s great that Ireland has left it’s mark on you - I’ve travelled abroad quite a bit but in recent years since I found wild camping (or it found me) I’ve no interest in going abroad at all, there’s so much for me to explore here and hopefully to occasionally create a little memory of by video. Thanks so much for watching the video and getting in touch - it makes it all very special!! I hope you get back here soon for some more soul conversations, we’ll be waiting!! 😊
@@MiriamKennedy I have Ireland penciled in for 2022. A few weeks ago I watched Gerry McVeigh's - Mweelrea Mountains videos. The range looked particularly interesting so I read up on it.Gosh, I was so surprised (and saddened) that several people lost their life in that area. Have you ever ventured there?
@@krisshensley9388 Hi Kriss - great you have a plan for 2022! I haven’t climbed Mweelrea yet but if you look at my little video of the Sheeffry Hills I camped at a spot overlooking Mweelrea and there is a great shot of the shape of the mountain with Doo Lough separating us. Definitely a mountain I’ll get to in the coming months hopefully 🤞 Yes - even quite recently there was a death at Mweelrea - the reality of the dangers that are good for me to be reminded of. Gerry’s back catalogue of videos are a great source of destination ideas for me! 😉
Cheers Mark - thanks for the support, its a tough aul thing this UA-cam video creating...felt encouraged about it yesterday and totally insecure about it today. 😉
A nice video of what looked like a great hike. I haven't hiked Djouce in years, even if it is on my doorstep (shame on me). But I have cycled across it to Roundwood. Thanks for video Miriam. Your videos are encouraging me to get off my bum & get back into the outdoors again.
Cheers Colman - your message gave me a giggle! Cycling across Djouce sounds like a great way to do it 😎 Such a pity it was so windy that I couldn’t capture the views from up there as I really do like those views. The wind was too crazy - it seemed I had to get the speaking monkey off my back so I still had to go ahead and record this video and post it…not my finest piece (now there’s my bit of personal shame 🤭) Thanks for watching it and maybe it’ll get you up there again for a hike (and no shame allowed if you don’t!) 😎
Thanks so much Andrew - my first time to speak in this video, I felt very awkward to say the least 🫣 Thank you so much for saying that you enjoy the videos, that’s lovely of you to say!! 😊
@@MiriamKennedy thank you Miriam , it’s pouring down with rain here in Swindon Wiltshire and it’s so nice to sit and watch your super adventures ,can’t wait to do some cycling, camping owner of 6 bikes and three tents not long had my right knee replaced so have to wait until l am fit enough,do keep up your super trips just love Ireland & the Irish people, best regards .

Brilliant to see you speaking on camera Miriam. I was very pleasantly surprised. I have the Irish peaks book on me christmas list 😄 I have never been to Djouce but I will have to head up that way, the views you got were amazing especially considering the weather. If you hadn't had the gps on the drone you would most likely still be up there looking for it 😃 I would have gotten sick. Loved this video, I had been watching out for your next one. Brilliant 👍
Ah cheers Jason - in fairness I couldn’t even hold the GoPro let alone fly the drone with the wind once I hit higher ground. I didn’t do the views any justice at all - I debated about posting it but I suppose it’s not about perfection and I needed to just get the speaking monkey off my back and not leave it any longer 😊 Thanks for your support!! If ever you do come up towards Wicklow and you feel like a walking buddy, give me a shout. I know you prefer solo trips too but I feel like I know you and your wife at this stage so it would be nice to catch up eventually 😉
@@MiriamKennedy @Miriam Kennedy I thought the views were class. I can only speak for myself here but it does get to a point where I can edit for hours and hours and I just have to say thats good enough or I'd be at it for days on end and still wouldn't be happy. Your videos are great, I am looking forward to the Elixir making an appearance 😁 I'll definitely keep that in mind, I am working on struggles that I have with anxiety, it is slowly improving. So when I get to a point where I'm comfortable dealing with that I will definitely take you up on the offer. Theres loads that I can't do because of it at the moment. @@RamblingOn it’s the Access 2 that I got - hopefully in the coming weeks the weather will be kind enough to try it out! 🤞 By the way - knowing your struggles definitely was part of what inspired me to step outside my comfort zone and do that video, so thanks!! Hi back to your wife 🤗
@@MiriamKennedy oh why did I think the Elixir 🤔 bad memory 😄 Thats great to hear and I'm delighted that you did. You are a natural on camera. My daughter's on my lap she was asking who I was messaging so she now wants to see your videos 😄
Thanks so much! It’s a great place - not a great video with the conditions unfortunately but I just needed to get the speaking monkey off my back for this one I think! It’s a lovely spot 😊
Ah nice to hear from you Michael - I was last up Djouce on a walk with you guys, our route was much nicer though! Shame I couldn’t capture anything decent - too windy to even hold the GoPro let alone the drone. Hope France went well and that you’re keeping well and spending time doing all that brings you pleasure! 😊

Always nice to put a face to a name. Well done on your UA-cam debut very well presented. And again thanks for sharing another excellent video. On lunch in work craving the weekend and the hills. Well done!! 👍👍
Thanks so much Niall - it's been a bit of a journey this whole UA-cam thing. Lovely to feel part of a community of people who appreciate the hills and I eventually pushed myself to show up a little more! I'll see if I feel moved to do it again - I certainly hope to occasionally capture our lovely countryside anyway!! Thanks for your encouragement....roll on the weekend 😉
@@MiriamKennedy well you did really well.. the hills are an addiction once you get into it, so it's great to see "and hear" other areas of the country through such great videos so keep it up, your flying. Look forward to seeing some more of adventures.👍👍👍
Nice summary of the hike up. We have been flying from Djouce a few times in 2021. I love this mountain with awesome views when high up. The final glide into the valley and passing above the forest on the east side is always filled with adrenaline. It is a tough hike with 20kg on our back but the effort is worth, when you catch the first thermal.
Thanks Uri! I can only imagine how good your views must be from high above Djouce - to hike with all your weighty gear takes some dedication to the cause!! It’s a lovely hike - shame I didn’t have the conditions to send the drone out to capture some of the great views that particular day. Not the kind of weather I would typically choose to make a video but I just had to get the speaking monkey off my back I think that day!!
Just came across your channel Enjoyed the video nice views Great editing and first time talking to the camera Brilliant I hope it continues, Liked and Subscribed, Stay safe, Les.
Cheers Les!! It was a scary thing for me to do to take a leap in to talking to camera - delighted I took the challenge though. I had been posting videos for a year and never had any desire to speak but then I started to feel an urge to push myself to do it. Im still finding my way with it - just like everyone else, I look forward to checking your channel out too!! Thanks for getting in touch 🤗
Ah thanks Bob!! I think I’ll leave the summit jigs to you 🤗 It’s been a bit of fun to capture some of our lovely country and record a few memories of solo adventures. The talking was a new one - all a bit scary and probably not for me but glad I did it!! Hope all well with you!
Yes it’s a really beautiful spot - it’s a shame on this visit that the wind was far too strong for me to capture any aerial shots. I’m glad you got a sense that it’s a lovely spot anyway! Thanks for your message 😊
Hi Miriam, just a lovely and most inspiring video. I just saw your Inis Meain Brompton trip as well, I will say, that is inspiration squared ;-) and a great place to take my Brompton. Cheers, and keep going!
Thanks very much Dave! Inspiration squared - I love it!! 😂 Really glad you enjoyed the videos and thanks for letting me know. Yeah Inis Meáin a great place to take your Brompton, wonderful to hear from Brompton fans - the coolest bikes as far as I’m concerned 😎 Thanks again, really appreciate it and hopefully I’ll muster the ability to do another trip again 🤞
@@MiriamKennedy Well, I'm betting on you! You know, it's interesting to consider the Aran Islands; I've thought about bringing the Brompton to Ireland but had kind of settled on trying to do a long ride in England, mostly due to the wealth of paths there-and the famously narrow roads of Ireland. When I was there eight loooong years ago, rented a cottage near Castlemaine, I asked the owner if there was a store handy nearby. He said oh sure just walk on down (the main highway R561) a quarter mile. Those beautiful fieldstone walls put me about a foot from the passing cars haha. You've inspired me to think again. What a kick it would be to see the islands that way! Years ago I went to see the Gallarus Oratory one day, and I was fortunate enough to have about five minutes inside it, all alone. That was a very powerful experience, and I've wished to return to Ireland ever since. Hey also-I've watched several of Susanna Thornton's vids, wow she is tough, talk about inspiring. I think she rode a *new* cycle path from Dublin to the West? Are there others you would rec for watching in addition to her and Gerry from Walking and Wild Camping? Cheers!
@@daveclark8788 Susanna didn't have any new cycle path for her cycle from Dublin to Donegal - she did it on minor roads where possible from what I could see though. I've really very little experience cycling outside Dublin city, I've had a Brompton for many years but it has been a commuting bike for me rather than touring. I only did one other touring trip where I went from Westport to Achill and that was along a cycle path in fairness. So...I've no idea what cycling along the rest of the country will be like. The West Coast is really marketed for cycling the Wild Atlantic Way so I'm assuming there are some decent bike tracks in sections and I've often seen cyclists on those roads. If I make another Brompton trip I'll definitely aim to do sections of the West Coast - amazing scenery and it should be easy to find camping spots. Hiring bikes on the 3 Aran islands is a big thing so taking a bike there really is a great way to explore them! For other Irish UA-camrs that I'd recommend - I'm not really sure what kind of style you like and there is such variety...I know you like Gerry (my favourite Irish UA-camr!) but I think everyone seems to have a unique style so its hard to cover all bases. Assuming you like videos of mountain hiking: - John Dillon (hasn't posted a video in a long time but he has a beautiful style for the videos he has done). - Purple Peak Adventures (again they haven't posted in a long time but they have some amazing footage of their hiking in Ireland). - Toms Tours, Ireland (great drone footage) - I really enjoy Frozen Mist Wildcamping Ireland, very creative & humourous. There are a number of others, but check out some of those and see if they hit the mark for you!! Sounds like you had a very special experience at the Gallarus Oratory - I don't think I've ever been so hopefully I'll get to check it out! A long trip in England in addition to a visit to Ireland sounds like some good plans to have with your Brompton! Hee hee 🙂
@@MiriamKennedy Hello, I had replied last night, but I had not known about including links in a message, so I'll try again-sans links ;-) Mostly, I wanted to thank you for your input, in particular the other You Tubers you directed me to. I watched Colin on Frozen Mist, his vid on Inis Oirr is really stunning, so....thank you, for that and the others, I will enjoy and learn a lot. And yes, Walking is right up there with riding in terms of interest. With regards to Susanna Thornton, you're correct-I realized I had read an Irish Times article from September 2019 about riding the Royal Canal Dublin to Shannon, and confused it with her, it's an interesting piece; it sounds like they are trying to stitch it all together path-wise. Do you know of the Brompton Traveler channel? Gianni has done a lot of tours on his bike around the world, and has *lots* of helpful info on touring with a Brompton-I love his South England ride story from about seven months ago. He wild camps and does hotels and B & B. It would, indeed, be smashing to do a ride like that and then see the Aran Islands! Again, thank you Miriam.
@@daveclark8788 You’re very welcome Dave 👍 Great you enjoyed Colin - he keeps me laughing with his content! I just heard about Gianni from Susanna’s latest video as she mentions him in her description so I’ll watch some more of what he gets up to - pretty wild stuff from what I’ve seen so far, amazing what the Brompton is capable of!
Fantastic job Miriam. Well done on the talking to camera for the first time, not an easy thing to do and you did great, have to say it really adds to the video, keep it up… if you feel comfortable doing that of course. What a great book Irish Peaks is! Just got a copy of it myself last week, plenty of hikes on there to keep everyone occupied for a while anyway
Thanks so much for the encouragement, I really appreciate it! It was a little monkey on my back for the last while - I started putting videos on UA-cam as I wanted to send one to a friend in the US a little over a year ago and realised it was easy to put it on UA-cam as I couldn’t send it any other way. Since then Ive been inspired by so many other people who are doing what they do but it’s been a bit of tight rope to really do what feels right for me. Ive no interest in doing videos really often, I value my time out there alone far too much and when the camera is with me it’s just so different. Anyway….I’m glad I did it and I’ll find my way I’m sure with a balance of how I want to do it! I totally agree though - I feel I connect more with a video when I get a sense of the person. It just wasn’t something I wanted to do before now. However in recent months I’ve realised that UA-cam offers another form of connection and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the community of likeminded people. I don’t do any other social media at all so I’m a slow learner in trying to find my place in it! It’s such a beautiful book isn’t it!! A fantastic resource - beautiful images throughout! A national treasure!! 😉 Thanks agin 👍
Absolutely brilliant Miriam. You're a natural. Well done for stepping out of your comfort zone and talking on camera for the 1st time. You should do it more often. Really enjoyed the music and the slow-mo shots. I have never done any of the Wicklow mountains but they are on my to-do list very soon. Nothing worse than seeing great shots and being unable to get them due to weather. So glad you got your drone back. I have just ordered the Irish Peaks book. Thank you for the recommendation. Well done again. Very relaxing video. Go you.
Aw thanks Martin - talking into a little black box feels so completely unnatural but I’ll hopefully give it a go again 😉 Yep - I wasn’t able to capture the views from Djouce due to the conditions but I’m glad I still posted it! Thanks for your support 👍 I hope you enjoy the book, it really is beautifully put together! Catch you soon 😊
Hi Miriam! Looks a lovely walk with amazing views👍 Well done on the voiceover! Really enjoyed watching & listening👍😊 Oh...and pleased you got your drone back! 😁
Thanks a million Des! The Wicklow Mountains are beautiful and I’m blessed to have them pretty close to me. Well I’ve done it now with talking - we’ll see if I do it again 😊 Thank god I got the drone back - I was pretty surprised to find it! Thanks a million for watching the video and great to hear from you 👍
Brilliant video Miriam and great to hear your voice, I know how nerve recking it is trying to find the right thing to say! I loose count of the numerous “takes” I have to do! Never been up Djouce, just see it from afar, makes we want to get back down to Wicklow for a dander! Keep up the great work 👍
Thanks so much - yep it definitely feels strange talking into a black box! I'm not one for small talk so it'll be a bit of a challenge for me to see if there is anything I want to say at all - I'm glad I took the risk though and at least took a step out of my safe place and showed up a little more. I don't just want to speak for the sake of it so I'll try keep open to taking more risks if it feels like its something I want to do. I had the pleasure of the Mournes on Saturday and Wicklow on Sunday - both beautiful places but I have a very soft spot for the Mournes!! 😉
Djouce is a great hike from either side, it's my local and I love it. Nearly lost my drone on White Hill once but managed to land it on a railway sleeper and GPS brought me to it, battery was low, stupid mistake 😂! Great video again, take care 👍
Cheers John, yes Djouce is lovely! I hadn’t started from that particular Carpark before so the route in was new for me. Lucky you to have it as your local - it only takes me about 25 mins to drive there to be honest so I feel very lucky also! With the weather being as it was I didn’t feel I could capture great views, I couldn’t even hold the GoPro when up high. I was a bit disappointed with that but I decided to go ahead and post it anyway. Oh Lord - I know that drone adrenalin feeling oh so well 😉 Great you found yours too. I was really lucky too - at one point it was about 10 meters from me and I was turning it to bring it in but it got carried by the wind a bit and then really quickly I lost sight of it and I couldn’t work out from the view in the app where it actually was - every time I tried to steer it - it seemed to be moving a greater distance from me. In the end the battery failed and it came down. It could have gone anywhere - it’s so open as you know up there with thick heather all around, yet when I looked on the map, it was actually showing really close to the edge of the trail so all I had to do was walk back the trail and it was about 1 or 2 meters from the edge of the trail in the heather - I was so lucky!! I lost a drone up a tower in Donegal about 6 weeks ago so I would have been kicking myself to have lost it 🤦♀️
Oh Lord, not my finest hour 🫣 Thanks very much, it was definitely a bit of a watershed moment to open my mouth! I’ll have to look at it again to remind myself - the wind was so bad, a terrible day to try show off Djouce!!
@@MiriamKennedy you captured a moment in time & can tell with the edit that you enjoyed making it.. I was waiting for the drone in my head.. the music was building perfectly for it.. excellent use of the GoPro

Thank you so much Mark! I’m about to watch Gerry’s latest adventure now so I’m looking forward to it!! Yep - all a bit awkward on the speaking front but I’ll see if I take to it some more. I’m just back from a trip to Donegal where I brought the camera gear and I tried speaking again. Your comment and feedback is so encouraging - thanks a million!! Thanks very much Tom! That’s high praise - I’ll just try be myself anyway and see how I go with it! Thanks for your encouragement and I’m glad you liked the music too 🤗
Miriam you did a great job catching the mood of the hills...now all you have to do is a video for each of the mountains in The Irish peaks book. I got the book a few weeks back in the Outdoor shop in Laragh, its fab. we are two of a kind we both enjoy solo hikes and mess around with drones.only difference is you have talent. If you produce more videos you will as a by product be teaching me...so out into the hills with you. Smiles not miles
Ah Shay you’re very good - I’ve honestly no talent and I’m just winging it and wondering why the hell I’m even doing it! Thanks for the encouragement - you made me laugh! Delighted to hear you’re a fan of the Irish Peaks book too! What a project that would be to do them all…the picture of Slieve Snacht is the one that has grabbed me most and I was planning to do a video on that one when I get back to Donegal. I just got a notion of doing a video at the last minute when planning a walk in Wicklow on Sunday and decided to see what routes were given for Wicklow. I felt like I’d done videos on variations of the other Wicklow walks so Djouce it was! Get publishing your Drone footage!! We need more people to be making a show of themselves on UA-cam - it’s the most vulnerable thing I’ve ever done in my life 🤦♀️
Great to see you back out, Miriam. Excellent video as usual. I'm off to the Maamturks in a couple of weeks. Any suggestions for an older beginner?! Garrett
Thanks very much Garrett! I consider myself a beginner too in fairness. I’m not sure how much of a beginner you are and whether you are able to navigate with a map to create or follow a route? I did a Mountain Skills course Levels 1 and 2 and that really opened up the mountains to me by learning how to navigate with a map and compass. I was completely new to hiking, I had no experience but I wanted to go out in a tent and wildcamp and something prompted to learn how to read a map. I did a Mountain Skills course of which there are plenty all around the country - this opened up the whole country for me! I knew I didn’t want to join a walking club so I needed to learn some basics (I’m not completely antisocial, but I knew I wanted to head out alone 😉) Since then, I’ve developed a love for hiking but my first love is wild camping! I also use an App called ViewRanger which is fantastic and people upload routes for others to use. Using this app you literally follow a line and can see where you are at all times and know whether you are going off track. When I go somewhere I’m not familiar with I always use ViewRanger and a paper map - I like looking at maps!! For the Maumturks - I can send you a link to the route I used if that would be helpful? I think a common route is to aim to Mam Ean Carpark and you can access the higher ground from there. An amazing spot! If you are already familiar with navigating - let me know and I’ll send you the route that I used!! Thanks for watching the video 👍
Hey Miriam good to see you back out in your fave environment and wow speaking to. Now that's the start of your vlogging for sure. I remember gerry Mcveigh (Walking & Wild Camping Ireland) was not so vocal some time ago but now he tells some great tales. Glad he does - so looking forward to your own. All the best. Mark
Thanks very much Mark! Yep - I never wanted to talk as the videos were always for me, just to remind me of the feeling I got at times when I wildcamped. As I've improved and found myself being part of this lovely UA-cam community I've been feeling an urge to maybe speak. Its not something I ever thought I'd want to do as its definitely more a feeling experience for me that words don't touch. I've no interest in speaking for the sake of it. I know you know the feeling I'm talking about and plenty of others too so we'll see how it unfolds - I've no idea and that's part of the pleasure and challenge of course! Thanks for watching the little video Mark 😉
@@MiriamKennedy A real pleasure Miriam. You do what's in your heart at the end of the day and that includes how long or not you want to talk for. It will only ever be meaningful I know. Take care.
It's funny, I started watching a channel from the Peak District that two women were doing walks in and at first they never said a word, it was just views and photos but I was interested as never been to the Peak District. One video, one of then (just like you) started talking to the camera, next video the other joined her friend in speaking to the camera too. After that, you could not shout them both up lol! I still watch and it's a great channel. We have only ever been to Dublin in Ireland watching bands, so never seen any of the countryside, so interested in what you are filming and have to say, it looked stunning, very crisp footage you took as well. The wind looked brutal at the top but great views and loved the rainbow and time - lapse. Good to hear you recovered your drone and I look forward to seeing more of your countryside. Keep up with the taking, you came across very well, cheers Alan
Thanks so much Alan! That’s funny to hear about the women in the Peak District. There is a definite danger I mightn’t shut up either! I’ve been posting videos for a year and the reason I never spoke was because the videos have always been for me - to remind myself of the feeling I get when I head out on my adventures. I’ve never had any interest in speaking to myself 😊 After a few months I realised there was this community of people that were supportive of what I was doing and some even giving me shout outs in their videos. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed all that support and felt like this UA-cam community are actually new friends so why not engage with them a little. Let them get to know me a bit more! It’s not why I originally started making videos so it’ll be an unfolding journey to see what I want to create. It’s great fun though yet pretty exposing! Definitely outside my comfort zone but mostly that feels good! Thanks so much for your encouragement - it spurs me on and motivates me!! Thanks 😉
@@MiriamKennedy - Funny, same reason as when I started but also wanted share with my family and hopefully inspire my kids and grandkids to spend more time away from the computer screens and really appreciate the great outdoors. Its a nicer surface than concrete and in a way the downhills are easier than road running or walking even, you go with it and dont have to fight it so much. Nice book suggestion btw. looks like a nice great tabletop book
That’s a great sales advertisement for it - I might get to it eventually! Hell Fire Club is as steep as I’ve run (and not even the front steep section). It’s a very lovely book indeed! 😎
Never pick low level blackberries in busy areas. There’s a height that dogs and men can pee and above that might be better....😂 Love the vids, thanks for taking the time and effort to put them up.
Ha!! I’ve picked them my whole life…thanks for the suggestion though, I’ll never forget that now 😂 Thanks for watching the video, it’s great to hear of anyone watching one and maybe enjoying them. Have a good one today 👍
@@MiriamKennedy a wise man once gave me that advice. 😂 Windy here and I have a few jobs to do so a quick dog walk will be the height of today's adventure. Hope you have a great weekend. Cheers
@@tullycottage367 very wise!! A windy one on the Dublin Mountains here today too, out for a walk myself but it’s still very strong on these lower hills - enjoy your walk! 😊
Beautiful video miriam I live down in graignamanagh co Kilkenny we have Brandon hill right beside us there's great trekking over the hill to inistioge & around hope you will come visit us some time
Hi Peter - thanks for your message! My first video speaking - lord, I still find it weird! Your local hill sounds like a lovely hike - I’ll certainly check it out!! Hopefully they’ll be some interesting spots to pitch a tent too 😉
Well Miriam this better not be your last narration , I could listen to those gentle dulcid southern Irish tones all day . Well done , it’s not easy first time around that’s for sure . With a bit more narration you’ll be talking kak like the rest of us , mmmm or am I the only one talks kak 🤔mmmm. Yes the wee drones don’t like the big winds , nearly lost mine twice on Skye as ya know . Lovely wee dander Miriam , big thumbs up from me . ATVB Colin
Ah thanks Colin!! Your little prompting to me a few weeks ago made its mark - it’s all your fault really!! It wasn’t something I ever wanted to do and I felt no reason to do it…however over time I’ve been moved by the community aspect that comes from posting and realised others were giving a lot (even if it is kak) and why not connect a little more by speaking! I’m on my third drone Colin - I may have to admit to all my mishaps if I continue speaking 🤦♀️ Thanks for all your support and I hope your Halloween Project is coming along!! 🤗
@@MiriamKennedy you’re a natural behind the camera or is that in front of the camera?😁 🤔anyways defo a bold step and one that has now made you a real live person if that makes sense 🤔See , I can write kak as well !! 😁😂 The drone mishaps are absolutely now a prerequisite for another vlogg , I’ll not let that one slip 😁!! Samhain preparations are afoot , few projects in my head , just tying up a few loose ends . Funny but I was out last weekend, no camera no phone nada , just wanted to be in the moment by myself . Hopefully out next weekend with Ben , if he ever takes a bloody break 😁
@@frozenmist-w4k great - I look forward to seeing your Samhain contribution!! Yeah I only seem to have an interest to do videos the odd time - I need lots of time out where it’s just me and no camera, it’s a completely different experience as you know. I feel ready again for another video or two before the clocks do their thing in a few weeks…if I can get a gap with not too much wind and rain as I’m going to take a bit of time off work in the coming weeks. I’ll share my drone mishaps for sure 😎 Cheers again Colin 👍
Not my finest hour 😂 Needed to get that monkey off my back 🤦♀️ Terrible conditions to try show off this area - it seems I was pushed to just do a video and speak, never mind the views!! 🤷♀️ What questions??
Wow ... amazing video. Beautiful day. ☺👍👍👍
Thanks Andrey - we're blessed with some lovely landscape in Ireland for sure! Glad you enjoyed this little video 😎

ATB.
Thank you Miriam! Beautiful video and long may you continue making them. Happy walking. Enjoy! Johnny
Cheers Johnny for your support! Much appreciated and I’m glad you enjoyed it - Wicklow is a lovely spot for a walk alright 👍

Cheers Colman - your message gave me a giggle! Cycling across Djouce sounds like a great way to do it 😎 Such a pity it was so windy that I couldn’t capture the views from up there as I really do like those views.
Assuming you like videos of mountain hiking:
- John Dillon (hasn't posted a video in a long time but he has a beautiful style for the videos he has done).
- Purple Peak Adventures (again they haven't posted in a long time but they have some amazing footage of their hiking in Ireland).
- Toms Tours, Ireland (great drone footage)
- I really enjoy Frozen Mist Wildcamping Ireland, very creative & humourous.
Hee hee 🙂
@@MiriamKennedy Hello, I had replied last night, but I had not known about including links in a message, so I'll try again-sans links ;-)
Mostly, I wanted to thank you for your input, in particular the other You Tubers you directed me to.

Thank you for sharing this video and your book advise
You’re very welcome, it’s a beautiful book - fabulous photos and route descriptions showing off Ireland’s mountains. Thanks for watching the video! 😊
I lost a drone up a tower in Donegal about 6 weeks ago so I would have been kicking myself to have lost it 🤦♀️
Another great video Miriam.

Take care.
Thanks Mark 😉
@@MiriamKennedy Pleasure.
I remember getting my first comment from a non family person and being quite shocked and a bit embarrassed, then when they subscribed, I was worried I had a stalker lol. The community spirit on YT is great, something I really value now. Take care, cheers Alan
@@AlanMETALMAN yeah it was totally alien to me too! I was definitely chuffed with anyone subscribing (and still am) but I also find that side of it a bit yucky too…a love hate thing with it all. I do no other social media (just because I’ve never had any interest) so I feel a bit of a novice and a fish out of water in trying to find my way…my own way, not just adopting someone else’s 😉 I look forward to checking out your channel to see what you get up to!!
Keep talking your a natural
Ah cheers Brian! I’ve certainly got the monkey off my back now and we’ll see how I go with it. Amazing how something so minor can seem so challenging - talking into a little black box is completely bonkers in fairness 😊 I mightn’t be able to shut up after a while of course!! 🤦♀️
I started trail running a few weeks ago, first one did Crone wood to Maulin and the last 2 weeks went from Crone down the WW past Djouce, its a lovely inviting mountain , when Im fitter Ill try run/walk Djouce and War Hill behind it.
Well done you! Anytime I’m up that direction I’m always in awe of those trail running - such a wonderful way to exercise!! You have my admiration and I hope you reach your next goals with it!! 😎🤞
@@MiriamKennedy so was I lol , I had trained up to Deer Park and Dalkey to Killiney Hill, so thought I'd give it a go.
Nice video
Thanks very much! Glad you enjoyed it 🤗
Never pick low level blackberries in busy areas.
Hello friends nice video friends great super like video friends 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Hi - thanks for watching the video and I'm glad you enjoyed it! 😎
Hopefully they’ll be some interesting spots to pitch a tent too 😉
Great Video want to be in Ireland 👍
Thanks wry much Markus! Hope you get to Ireland 🤞
Its nice to do occasionally for sure though! I feel ready again for another video or two before the clocks do their thing in a few weeks…if I can get a gap with not too much wind and rain as I’m going to take a bit of time off work in the coming weeks. I’ll share my drone mishaps for sure 😎 Cheers again Colin 👍
Please don't attribute kak to anyone else😊
😂
Love it! But I have questions. By the way, you are made for a camera, well done.
Not my finest hour 😂 Needed to get that monkey off my back 🤦♀️ Terrible conditions to try show off this area - it seems I was pushed to just do a video and speak, never mind the views!! 🤷♀️ What questions??
@@MiriamKennedy The full effect is lovely. I'm reminded of Gloria Swanson: "I'm ready for my close-up, Mr. DeMille." ;)
Just checked out that clip…all very dramatic 😎
