I just shaved my head two days ago to get rid of all my relaxed hair. I'm another mixed 4c and it was so great to find your channel - seeing someone 4c and light skinned like me and watching your whole journey is such a relief that I'll be able to do this. Sharmaine, I can't believe I sat down for 25 minutes to watch your hair air dry in the time lapse but I was captivated. You have all 3 Type 4 patterns and 3C at the nape. The hang time is obvious now. I would like to see you air dry without a leave in and butter. You may have started a trend in natural hair videos.:)

This was so cool to watch. I feel like 4c is the most interesting textures, you never know what to expect sometimes lol but I love that
Joy-el:
Hair: soaking wet.
Sections: kinda small.
Apply: leave in and styling cream liberally.
THEN let it air dry.
You’ll see a different outcome.
This was such an interesting concept for video footage: Did u literally sit still for 6 hours?! I could never - I’m way too fidgety! I even have trouble sitting under a bonnet dryer for 2 hours, when I choose to go that route. Anyway, I loved seeing this!
I stuggle for the 15min under a hooded dryer for my lo-po hair when I condition
I doubt she did. I’m sure she frequently left to do other things
But the camera was in the same position so that she could capture the hair at the same angle and with similar lighting every time she was there, over the course of the 6 hours

This is so interesting!! I feel like your hair hardly shrinks. My hairlength just totally dissapears after applying water😁🤣! I think you would be considered a 4a with 4b/c and probably even some 3c strands here and there. Our hair is so diverse👩🏾🦱

I always thought you were 4C too but I think the length has really shown the true pattern i see a lot of 4Aish curls. Definitely all patterns though and ur hair is super thick n healthy 😁

My hair loves my ears. No matter how long she gets she will always shrink to my earlobes. She is currently about 2 inches past my shoulder blades.

This video was helpful. I think you have hair that is quite similar to mine. Different hair textures throughout, looser in the back and a little looser around the edges. My hair probably shrinks up a little more. Seeing the lack of shrinkage in your hair makes me think that the majority of your hair is 4b, or at least that’s what I am thinking about my own hair. I realize now that my hair doesn’t shrink up as much as 4c hair would

I don't believe in the whole no butter/no oil thing. But doing a 'reset' on natural is a good idea. I did a regular wash day and only used oil for a braid out. Gave me a good idea of what my hair REALLY feels like.
Was your hair soaking wet at the beginning? I feel like it might shrink more if it's soaking wet and with just a light leave in like Melanin Haircare. The 4c twisting cream looks THICC lol
It was! I kind of wanted to show what my shrinkage looks like after styling my hair as I typically do: leave in, cream/butter, and then just leaving it be. That's why I'd like to try it without any product too! 😁
