      Many, many years ago, when I was a piano performance major at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, I turned the pages for my piano professor Nigel Coxe at a recital of his. Let me say it was more nerve wracking than performing myself. I mean, if I mess up at my own recital, hey, I can deal with it. But if I mess up the page turning, I mess up someone else's recital, which is way worse. After the recital ended, the other professor of piano, Estela Olevsky, made a point of complimenting me on my page turning, which was very gracious of her. And yes, Nigel thanked me too.

    I have played the four hand arrangement back in high school. All of the hard sledding is in the treble part, played here by Kissin. Trifonov plays oom-pa in the bass part. Not surprised if Kissin masters it in 30 minutes and Trifonov can sight read his part. One 30 minute rehearsal to get together on tempo.

      you are reight, the camera is more focust on Kissin. But as you know Daniil Trifonov does'nt need to be in the foregtound. Easy to see when playing tougether with Babayan, ( waths far more exiting as this Video here) or in Chambermusic. He id not only an incomparable Pianist, he is a charming ,very modest Person ! ❤

      @@harvardkarbodie that probably wouldnt even hinder him. Ive heard somewhere in a documentary that he often practices the same ways that blind pianists do. So when at one concert (tchaikovsky i believe) the lights went out, he kept playing and said that he was more surprised that the orchestra kept going as well

    Невероятная слаженность 2 блестящих исполнителей,она просто фантастическая!Браво!!!.И очень интересная подача материала
    Но,простите меня..
    В таком темпе теряется вся сочность муз.ткани,не хватает времени прочувствовать ,посмаковать муз фразы,их переливы с множеством разных оттенков.Хотелось бы услышать и 2 вариант,в более спокойной передаче этой бессмертной музыки!

      Helps when it is a piece with 2 pianos, you know, to know where the other one is and to be able to go along with any tempo changes, they can defenetly play this by memory but its better to not do that

      @@johnnytg1 well its a piece which requires grace and humor, two things Kissin never had (not a criticism, I think he has other things at top), he plays it like automate, he rushes, he emphasizes the rhythmical accents instead of softening them, and so on.
