I have been stitching for less than a year and decided to use satin floss for embroidering a black cat. I thought I was doing something wrong because the thread was difficult to work with. Thank you for sharing your tips.
That is a very good idea! Never thought of that but it would look perfect on a geisha. I am going to use that! Thanks for the tip and for watching. Stephen
So happy I found your youtube on this gorgeous DMC SATIN FLOSS. I bought it to do a moon themed project but had no idea how to make it behave. Thank you for you saved my project and soothed my doubts with this information.
It appears to have been around since the pyramids! I inherited a bunch of DMC threads from my mom and I couldn't read the labels. I had to use Google translate just to understand it was made in France.
'Bargello' is I think what he's referring to. I didn't realize it was a type of "fastening," just knew it as a type of quilt pattern. I might be wrong! 🤔😊

I like to use this thread for hair, in particular. I did the hair of a geisha to great effect. I love how it reflected the light, just like real hair.

I like to use this in black, because the standard cotton black floss ends up looking too flat to me. Thanks for the tips!

Hello from dallas. How many threads for a pillow case, 400 thread count? Thanks.
