James Hogg the Ettrick Shepherd wrote the poem Lock the Door Lariston in the early !800s. The poem is a homage to the Border Ballads, and echos the intensity and magic of that writing

A wee correction for you. Its Brechin tower not breaken tower. A Brechin tower is the Scots version of the Irish Round tower of which the two examples at Brechin and Abernethy are the best known.
